"Nasty Lil' Fucker"

I was in my mothers room texting on my phone, and she was doing a crossword puzzle while listening to the radio. I had this horrible thought. I don't even know where it came from but it went something like this "I wonder why they always play Prince songs at night-" I couldn't even finish my damn thought because I heard that piano. It was the beginning to "Do Me Baby". Oh God! I know the look on my face must've been priceless. I wanted to run out of that room but if I did she would've known that I had heard that song b4. Sooo I thought about "casually" leaving the room....no. sad So as loud as I could, I just randomly started shouting "LA LA LA LA LA!" I was trying to drown out Prince's heavy breathing and sexy screaming. Then I blurted out "So mommy how's life?" In a sing song voice, because I knew the song would be over soon. I was horribly wrong. Prince: "So whatcha gonna do you just gonna sit there and watch?". *awkward silence* -_____- They're playing the fucking extended version. Since when do they play the mf-ing extended version of "Do Me Baby" on the radio? Before the song could go on any further my mother got up, turned off the radio, and called Prince a "nasty little fucker" As for me? I "casually walked" out of her room. I played dat off well don't ya think? biggrin *sigh* Damn U Prince

Um. Is it 1982 where u live?

I'm seriously wondering, becasue I didn't think anyone listened to the radio anymore and if they did, they sure didn't play Prince anymore and If they DID they most likely weren't playin "Do Me Baby'!! And sure as hell not the extended version!!

Are you sure you didn't dream this? And how are you 15 and a PRINCE fan and you know your sh*t!

I just find this entire post almost completely and totally unbelievable from every conceivable angle.

I don't think you exist. Or you radio.

Never, as there is no extended version. There is the album version that runs at 7+ mins, and there is an edited version that is under 4 mins.

mmm - interesting response from your mother. You seemed alarmed that she might get freaked over the content of the song...yet she calls Prince a "nasty lil f....." !! Based on that description, I wouldn't have thought that your mom would have an issue with explicit lyrics???

I just heard "1999" and "Walk This Way" played consecutively on an Oldies station yesterday - and I thought damn, these are "oldies"? I think I was maybe 6 yrs old when these came out, but I still remember them, and they sound so fresh to me, so does that make me and my ears "oldies" too? I remember this same oldies station playing "Put your head on my shoulder" when I was little, and those songs did indeed sound old. So do '80s songs sound old to you young'uns nowadays? Damn...

HAHAHAHAHAHA........I picked up my grndson and 3 of his friends from football practice & decided to turn the tables and played Darling Nikki, International Lover, and Do Me back-2-back just to let them know that Prince set the stage for everyone else. OK so I got alot of pleasure because they were a captured audience. Next time they'll win the game.

They play alot of Prince songs on our radio station here They play 70, 80, 90 & 00 They play stuff like 1999 Kiss Purple rain Red corvette.. those songs.

But 1 time on this radio station in Iowa (when we were on a trip) a couple years ago they DID play do me baby.. I know this for a fact cause I was getting busy on my hubby during that time. We thought it was awesome that the song came on. :O)

Back when I was as teen I had just got Purple rain (boy am I dating myself) LOL any way.. I was blaring it in my bedroom and "Darling Nikki" came on when it got to the part about masterbating I literly FLEW across my room to hit the mute button. LOL

I had totally forgot about that song...

My Mom LOVED The song Purple Rain and "When doves cry" she asked if she could borrow it to listen to those songs and I was like "Um ya know what mom.. I will copy them for you on a tape so you can listen to them in the car.. whew... quick thinking LOL

lol I guess you mean "1999" and "Walk This Way" were not in the same year - that's a "typo" kind of mistake, I was mainly thinking of "1999" which I think was 1983? Please don't throw stones if I'm wrong, I'm too lazy to look it up for sure and I don't know its release year by heart. I didn't really listen to Prince until the '90s.

Anyway, I was thinking, "these are great songs - no way can they be relegated to "oldies!"

Contrary to what YOU do with your life and the ones around you, radio exists and people still listen to it. I've heard "Do Me Baby" on radio....both the album and single version...so that's happened.

All in all...cool story. And I'm older than 15...and I definitely know my shit.

Yeah I get you. Had do me baby playing in the car once with the whole family. I was the only one who seemed to register it though, while they were all talking. I was like 'er how about number 6 then guys?' luckily it was the shortened version or I would have actually changed the track myself.
Would you run to me if somebody hurt you even if that somebody was me?
