Prince is NOT a gay black man

Dear Prince.org,

It is patently clear that Prince is NOT a gay black man.

However, is it possible that he has ever engaged intimately with another man in his life? Would it change how you would view his music?

Personally speaking, I don't believe he has ever screwed his fellow man. Truthfully, it would almost definitely and irrevocably alter my view of the music and I am not convinced it would be a good thing at this stage for his public persona, or his fanbase, if it was revealed he wasn't exclusively a lover of women.

It is interesting that the thought of homosexuality still appears to repulse him, even though the JW system of beliefs has less of a stranglehold on his music.

love,

Spirit

I know for sure that it will not change my opinions of him or his music.

There are lots of gay men who made fantastic beautiful music = George Michael, Elton John, Freddy Mercury, Adam Lambert. Not to forget gay women ie Melissa Etheridge, is Wendy gay?

I think if you still have second guesses over gay musicians' music than I think you need to get with the times and stop living in the past.

If P ever came out of the closet i'll still love him.

pray Peace in the House of Prince.

Oh dear, noone in their right mind believes Prince is gay.

Only the ignorrants, who don't like his music, those non-fans... trying to put him down.

the fans who knows about Prince knows he is 100% straight, always was and always will be.

I guess we'll never know unless he comes out and says it himself. Oh wait, he did. Controversy was his coming out album to those who paid attention! smile

Step one, the question: Am I black or white, am I straight or gay?

Step two, the admission: Sexuality I wanna let my body be free.

Step three, experimentation: Do me baby, like you've never done before. Ohh give it to me til I just can't take no more.

Step four, back in the closet: U're my little secret, my private joy

Step five, those damn urges: I'd love to turn you on, I'd work you all night long
if I could get you in the raw, I'd make you climb the walls

Step six, hand jobs all round: If your man ain't no good Come on over 2 my neighborhood
we can jump in the sack and I'll jack U off. If U ain't a chicken, baby, come here If U're good, I'll even let U steer As a matter of fact, U can jack me off

I guess this could all be misconstrued though, it's not like he sang any of it in stockings and a thong...

oh.

lol

blah blah blah

I personally don`t give a flying f**k if he`s gay or not.

I love Prince for his music, not for the person(s) he sleep or slept with...

I know some people still judges others for their sexuallity, I think it`s real poor thinking and somehow really stupid!

Govinda, Cool. But does Prince judge others for their sexuality? I don't believe he does so as fervently, but his opinion is reasonably clear. love, Spirit

Prince played with his sexuality image wise in the early days, Dude is a lesbian.

Take it from wendy and lisa. their has been plenty stories of him with woman.

Not one leaked story of him in a homosexual situation.

But if he was or is... who cares. does not effect his music in any way.

I would still support.

Being a LBGT person`s only a label, it`s all about LOVE and Prince knows that. So P judging people for their sexuality? I don`t think so, he`s smarter than that... but if he does, well that will be only his problem, not mine. I will still love the music!

That's a shame that a person's sexuality is able to change your appreciation of their artistry

I don't believe he's gay, I never did and I never will unless he says it himself. And even if that ever happens, why will it bother me? Though, I guess, I'd be curious to know why he had to keep it a secret for so long.

But I applaud him for making it, let's say, not-too-obvious. You know, though he's straight he got a few homosexual fans convinced that he's gay wink

For those who believe it would not affect his music, or their opinion of the genius, how do you reconcile the vastly superior and inspired musicianship of The Rainbow Children, with his then decisive but divisive stance on sexuality and GOD?

I don't believe he is, but if the person he 'experimented with' was someone like Andre or Morris then they wouldn't tell it

A lot of people won't admit that it would affect them, but I think it would. As for me, I KNOW it would change the whole meaning of his songs, as it did with George Michael for me. I don't listen to his songs anymore, and it has more to do with how and why he is showcasing his homosexuality than his songs. So, he put me off for forever. It may sound weird, but when I had found out Wendy and Lisa being lesbian, I simply couldn't listen to them anymore, tho I never liked their musical output anyway. Having said that, I do sometimes think Prince could be gay for a fact, but I am undecided. Whatever he prefers, I appreciate he keeps it for himself, as this is nobodys business.

OzlemUcucu,

Whilst I do not know you, I appreciate your honesty as well as your clear manners in expressing a controversial viewpoint.

I must admit, I am surprised that Wendy and Lisa's sexuality affected you to the extent that you could not listen to their music? What was so difficult for you, if you don't mind me asking?

Naturally, please do not respond if you do not wish to, as that is a personal question; I would understand not wishing to respond to it, as Prince.org unfortunately houses many individuals who spit spite in abundance, often in an highly uneducated manner. It is unfortunate, but I say all of this only to suggest that you protect yourself, if you feel unsure regarding your response i.e. don't respond to me, at least in public.

Also, I am surprised by anyone who could, after knowing the man's musical and personal career history, conclude he is anything other than addicted to the love of highly physically attractive women (in the majority, though, of the white/light persuasion, even though there clearly have been a few exceptions).

Prince is NOT a gay black man.

love,

Spirit

Yeah, for he could be fooling many. It's just wanting to know the truth, that's all. Coming out of the closet can be liberating too, his music may change again. Who knows,...

Yes, I can tell you why it affected me, cause I usually pay attention to lyrics and they mean a lot to me.

Over the years I came to realise there is a certain pattern that I prefer. When I listen to women, it happens to have same theme in form of vocal expression, tune or lyric. It's the same with men. Generally, I don't prefer women singing love songs about women, and hardly even about men.

George Michael is screamin his love for another man, which is great but not that I can relate to. This usually wouldn't be a big issue if he wouldn't be publicly displaying his sexual preferences to extreme measure. I have no problem if they keep their preferences for themselves, but songs and identity of the performer is something that is important to my listening ear.

Wendy and Lisa have always came across as very extreme to me as well. However, as I said I don't like their musical output anyway.
