Why is it that Prince always go after the women that look like Vanity? Is he trying to fill some type of void? The latest picture of him and Mani was in a way, eerie, in a deja vu type of way. I thought I was looking at him and Vanity...What do you think?

You are born with your ideal mate engraved in your mind on what you perfer. With him it is past that. It is not about love. That's why I said on other posts that I felt sorry for her. She doesn't even notice she looks like the others. The only why you can tell them apart is if you gave them numbers. Everyone attacked me for bringing it up before. Never could get to the root of that but it is definitely not healthy. Oh and Ms. Vanity is the first one you all know about. That began long before he was famous. And no she doesn't look like his sister. Wonder what Danille is doing these days? She stalked Prince for years. But she didn't want him. Go figure.

Maybe it's just me, but they look like completely distinct individuals...sure he has a "style" when it comes to his women, but you can definitely tell them apart.

He is attracted to what he Thinks his Ideal Mate or rather Other Part of Himself would be in a Female Form. This is why he has chosen Mani and I Absolutely Understand it 100%. I hope she Can live up to his Dream or rather Fantasy of Perfection. Lest she bust his Bubble. But really no it's just the Damn Image that he will Never give up and so she must Fit It. What cracks me up is how one can never,never really get wild. So Horrible to have to be so Controlled.

Let's say a woman has an image in her mind that her ideal mate is a man who looks very much like D'Angelo, so she dates guys who in some way all resemble D'Angelo.

But one day while she's at Blockbuster Video looking for a movie to rent, she runs into a man with whom she feels an instant connection. She feels a strange bond with this man. But she is torn. Because the man does not fit her ideal image. Let's say he's a little overweight, wears glasses, and doesn't dress like he has much money. What if this is the man that God intended for her?

Is she going to keep choosing one D'Angelo look-alike after another to fit the ideal that she has in her head, or is she going to listen to her heart and speak to the overweight man in glasses that God sent to her?

To bring this back around to Prince, what if Prince's ideal mate is really a woman who looks like, say, MJ's ex-wife Debbie Rowe, but he'll never know that because the only women he looks at with interest are all of the same type -- Vanity lookalikes?

Actually it's deeper than that. The look alikes look like someone that hurt him that has nothing to do with love. That's why I say its not healthy. A way of getting back at this woman that really did a number on him. I am going to have to torture now.

Somebody in a different thread said they believe Prince chooses the Vanity lookalikes because these are the types of women that society and his fans find acceptable. His fans expect to see him with a young, tiny "exotic" brunette.

As someone else said: Prince cares a great deal about what other people say about him and about his lady friends. That's why I think he was so hard on Mayte when she had a little baby fat on her and he put her on a strict diet.

Prince is a celebrity. It's important for him to look good for the cameras, and he has to have a woman who can look good for the cameras as well. Prince would never marry a woman like Debbie Rowe, even if he did love her.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Debbie Rowe, she is the ex-wife of Michael Jackson and mother of two of his children. Here is a photo of her:

I am not picking on Debbie, but I'm just citing her as an example of the type of woman that Prince would never choose. Debbie seems like a nice, good-hearted woman from what I've seen of her in interviews. But she weighs at least 200 pounds and is plain looking.

Prince is no different than most other celebrity men who choose trophy wives. They like to have a woman on their arm that other people will look at and say "oh she's pretty." or "she's beautiful."

I don't think that its entirely Prince's doing this time. Mani knows she has long brunette hair and petite size that Prince prefers.

Mani is a fan who studied Prince and knew about him, his music, and his preferences. I've heard that Mani used to post on alt.music.prince when she was a student in Toronto.

I don't believe the rumor that Mani is a Jehovah Witness who met Prince through Larry while studying at the local Kingdom Hall. I believe she is a fan who hung around until she was noticed by the *right* person so she could get past the security guards and get to Prince. It worked for Carmen Electra, too.

No jealousy from me at all. I just think the way the relationship started was wrong. Prince can be with whoever he wants to be. I'm just saying he hasn't always made the right decisions. Sometimes it seems he can be driven purely by emotions.
