What show are you talking about? I don't remember him doing a show at Warner Brothers when he signed the contract. TRUE BLUE

I could have sworn he played an impromtu show at Warner Bros outside a few months after signing the contract but since the RS article above was 1991 guess not The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Former Warner Bros. exec Denise Brown was partly responsible for getting P back into the mainstream with D&P. She convinced him to do many "out of the box" performances during her time, including this event and performing at Radio and Record conventions. I was there when Prince and the NPG performed at a hotel ball room in Atlanta for a music convention. Talk about a religious experience! I stood next to Booty Collins the whole time. He kept hitting me in the head with his elbow! That's a tall M.F., but he smelled nice.

He did a couple of shows to show he still had "it" after the debacle that was Graffiti Bridge.
There was this parking lot show pictured, there was a big show in Minneapolis too...and why do I remember him performing "Diamonds and Pearls" live on TV before the album came out? Anyone? She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies....

I remember him doing it at The Special Olympics televised arena event. Im pretty sure it was before the album dropped. "Climb in my fur."

He also did Baby I'm A Star at the Special Olympics on July 21, 1991, but that was not televised until later on Friday Night Videos. That was several months before D&P dropped. I also think that was the only time 2 singles were released before an album, Gett Off and Cream. TRUE BLUE

That's it. And he was introduced by Kirstie Alley IIRC? She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies....
