I can't think of anything worse.

If he were to put out an entire show without any overdubs or editing in any way, then it could be really good.

ONA Live could have been brilliant but chose to include a heavily edited and mundane aftershow and the main show was made up of songs from different performances.

Certainly not what I want to hear.

If he put out an entire show without editing in any way, then it would be possible that it would be 90 minutes, and that 47 tracks on each disc would be Shelby yelling "Put Your Hands Up." Of course, it could also be an awesome show. I still think if he did it, it would have more Shelby and Andy than I could handle. ONA Live was at a time when the musicianship was more important than being a Diva. Now he's a total Diva who doesn't want to use his voice. Either background singers sing too much, or he holds the mic out for the auidence to sing. ONA and some of those 2009 shows were a wonderful thing, but instead of choosing the real band, he chooses to sleepwalk at this stage in his career.

He is 53 years old. The days when he will sing 15+ full-length songs all by himself will become more and more infrequent. He has also stopped doing the splits, and dances less vigorously. He will probably also sing in falsetto less frequently, or sing many of those songs in a natural vocal register or not sing them himself (except probably Kiss, b/c it's one of his signature songs). There's his rendition of "Gotta Broken Heart Again" in Japan which is vastly superior to the original 25 years before because he got better at his craft and was at the peak of experience plus physical ability - he was like 45 yrs old - but after the peak is the steady decline. This is reality.

I just saw Elton John a few days before his 65th birthday. His voice is shot, but still sounds pretty good, and he sang 30 FULL LENGTH songs, and not a single song was sang by the backup vocals. Elton played piano on every single song, never once acted like a diva, and there were no fools yelling "Put Your Hands Up."

I also saw Dennis DeYoung at 64 put on a show with at least 13 full length songs sung by Dennis, and other than some BS during Mr Roboto, the show was without any CRAP.

Prince should be able to blow Elton out of the water at this point, but EVERY Elton John show on his tour is at least 2 hours 50 minutes or longer. Prince can do this if he wants, but he is not WILLING TO DO THE WORK.
