I was listening to For You last night and i decided that i really hate prince's vocals on that album. At first i just thought it was the production but i came to the conclusion that he just doesn't sing well on that album. I do think Prince is a very good singer but on For You and on some of his 1990's stuff where he harmonizes 'weird',he doesn't sound good. What do you guys think about his vocals on that album and on prince's voice in general ?

Le tme get this straight. A kid in the late 70's plays all the instruments, writes alot of the songs and sings by HIMSELF and you find FAULT in it? How can you possibly hold his FIRST album against the later ones, when he was clearly more experienced? I'd like to see some examples of how YOU used to write your name in the first grade...I could then hold them against your current handwriting and tell you that you were SHIT.

Prince's singing on For You is fine.. but I'm not a fan of Prince's voice in general. He may have a great vocal range or whatever, but I'm not a fan of the sound of his voice. He has had good moments vocally, and I really enjoy his singing on "Baby" and "My Love Is Forever".

And I will never get the attacks because someone doesn't agree. I personally am a fan of Prince's music, but his singing voice really does nothing for me. When I think amazing singers I think George Michael, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross.

Sounds great to me. I've always wished he go back to singing everything in falsetto like he did for a few years when he first started.

I was mearly stating my opinion that prince's vocals on the For You album are not his best and i stand by that. I've been a prince fan from Soft n Wet to Extraloveable 2011 so i think i earned the right to critque his shit and if some of you don't like it, tough. We all have opinions and they really don't mean shit. The problem i have is instead of having a respectful dialogue some people decided to name call and talk shit which i won't tolerate. To those people, grow up, get a life, and get the **** on.
