Uh, Huh, yea or nay "Was in my mama's belly, kickin on the 2 and 4." About as simple as you get. One of his best. A pepsi commercial. Well, at least we can say Ray Charles did a Prince song.
Another classic that needs to be let out. Release it, bitch. All you others say Hell Yea!!

It's an amazing funky track, I love it so much. Kind of like an extended version of that Ray Charles Pepsi commercial but still
And I can't be the only one who hears some country-vibe in this song!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely yay.
That bass don't quit. Love his delivery of the lyrics and the cleverness of them too.
This would be on my shortlist of outtakes I'd love to hear in pristine quality.
Edit: For what it's worth, this is one of the first outtakes I ever heard. ("Lisa" being the very first. Also on my shortlist.) [Edited 3/25/12 14:29pm]

Another classic that needs to be let out. Release it, bitch. I thought prince did a ray Charles song. Princevault and a some past threads seem to back this up showing the prince recording a year or two later. http://princevault.com/in...hp/Uh-Huh! Whatever the case, I love the prince track RIP

A massive "YAY!" but if Prince didn't write this song, who did?
I just can't picture Prince taking someone else's song - a commercial, at that - and making a jam out of it, but maybe that's what he did?
Unbelievingly, wikipedia is conflicted on who wrote it, LOL.
It was either Prince, ad advertising guy, or someone named "Arthur Takeall" from Anapolis, MD.

Well, whatever the case, Prince definitely tore up this song even if he possibly lifted the chorus. I'd like to hear it pristine too, and LIVE! "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

YAY YAY YAAAAAY! I love hearing the choir sing "Uh Huh!". It's positive and shit.

Yay. Yet another one he needs to release.
I thought I read that Prince wrote it and when it came royalty time (due to the pepsi commerical) Charles insisted Prince get the money for the songwriting.

Probably why he didn't release it. He would get sued by Pepsi. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Huge YAY. Don't know what possessed him to write verses for someone elae's Diet Pepsi jingle, let alone go into the studio to record it, but I'm glad he did. It's really fun and cool.

He wrote and recorded the song before Charles/Pepsi used it.

^^ Are you sure...? Source? I looked it up and it says the jingle was written by Kenny Ascher, Joseph C. Caro, and Helary Jay Lipsit. Kenny Ascher's wiki profile acknowledges him as the composer (or co-composer) of the song...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Ascher (under Jingle Writing) [Edited 3/27/12 22:54pm]

I like Uh Huh,
But discussed before and Prince did not write it... right?
And he did not receive $7 for writing this commercial to Ray Charles as written in the "Yellow" bootleg.. Prince 4Ever.
