Yeah, I'm glad he stuck to music. There are enough actors in the world, and his strengths are writing and playing music. If he had gone further into acting, it would have been time he wasn't writing all those many songs.

Sure he had great acting moments in Purple Rain and UTCM (I'm not even going there with Graffiti Bridge) but could Prince actually play a character that wasn't a moody musician or a womanizing musician? Could we imagine him playing a Rocky Balboa character or an English patient? I think not. lol Everything happens for a reason. I'm glad he chose to concentrate on his gifted talent of music instead of going deeper into acting. Not that he couldn't have done it, I just think he's stronger with his musicianship.

Though, I must say this, I love love love the looks Prince gives in the movies he was in. Like in Purple Rain when Wendy was calling him out in the dressing room and he turns suddenly and gives her this look like he was going to jump out the chair and slap the shit out of her? evillol For some reason, I love that part. I feel like those parts weren't scripted and he gave natural reactions. Also in the beginning when he's standing behind Apollonia staring with his aviator shades on....classic. His smirks make me chuckle. giggle

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I agree, but movies like Purple Rain where the album was put to a movie almost like a scripted video, Prince could have done.

UTCM should have been like Purple Rain, in featuring the the music of Parade and the proteges

He is not an "actor" in the full sense.

So whatever mood he takes with the album/music can reflect the character.

He was too much Morris Day in this one

This was some real acting though

I love the "looks" he gives in movies (and for that matter videos) and his presence on the screen. Of course I think PR was his best acting. I have to say I can't imagine him doing a serious movie that didnt involve music.

Have u had your + sign today?

I think we don't know what he is capable of. It would be interesting to see him in something that had some real depth and dimension to the characters. Overseen by a really good director.
