If Prince were to Remaster one of his Albums (Which one?) If Prince were to remaster one of his albums and perhaps add some outakes and extra bits. Which album would you choose?

Sign o the Times is the one that has the most additional material that is interesting. It could be a five disc set My Legacy

None, as the mastering on best albums is already great.
I wouldn't buy an album I already have in order to just get a few additional songs. I'd far rather he released something like Crystal Ball so I get a load of new material.

hmm... probably sign o the times, id really dig purple rain too though..

Maybe he should go in the other direction and release Emancipation and the NPG stuff on vinyl. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

I would prefer a new "actual" album with concept and not just a collection of songs put together and called a new album. Also a full album and not the bare minimum of 40-50 mins. I dont care if its in stores or not. The remasters dont really matter to me

I would like that. As a fan of his later music, I'd purchase every single album on vinyl.
To answer the OP, Parade.

SOTT !!! I just can't believe all the things people say !

I bet a lot of people would snap that stuff up if he put it out on vinyl. He released Lotusflow3r and MPLSound on vinyl, so why not the other later material? The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Yeah, Post WB, Rave, TRC (albeit limited) & Lotus is a poor number of albums to be released on vinyl. There were promo vinyls of other albums but of course they are not proper releases.

Rainbow Children, Musicology, 3121 and Planet Earth are available on vinyl
But to answer the OP question
Lovesexy with a bonus disc of the 5:1 mix Prince announced he'd done on the NPGonline.ltd webstie [Edited 3/20/12 16:41pm]

Musicology is a promo only, and PE is a fake. Also TRC is quite hard to find as there was only 1,000 produced.

I read in another thread that the 3121 "promo" vinyl is also a fake, which is too bad since I bought a copy. It's probably sourced from the CD.
What I'd really like to see on vinyl is the NPG Music Club stuff that never even got a proper CD release. He could do a vinyl box set of all that in a limited edition of 1000 copies. I bet enough orgers would buy it to make it turn a profit for him, even if he charged a high price. SOTT!!!!
LOVESEXY
1999
Purple Rain
Around The World IN A Day (Margially)
From every album in the 80's...I think Parade sounds the most fresh and current in terms of it's mastering. The chords are layed to perfection.
BUT if I had to stick with one...SOTT
It's Button Therapy, Baby!

I have heard about the 3121 fakes too. There are two versions, one in a white die cut sleeve, and the other in a black one, http://sleevographia2.fre...7GBR21.htm lists the white one as fake, but the ones in the black sleeves have a cat number and appear to be legit.

Hard to choose between Lovesexy or Around the World in a Day as both are in terrible condition. An argument for Sign o the Times could be made as well. All 3 albums sound awful.

None. They don't need remastering.
A new release of outtakes from the Parade/SOTT era would be fantastic, but there's no need to pay again for albums you already have and still sound exactly how they were meant to be heard at the time of release.
It took me a while to realise that 'remasters' are a rip off (I'm not all that bright) - when I noticed that I had several copies of the same Bowie albums and the lauded audio 'improvements' were really nothing of the sort. [Edited 3/21/12 4:03am]

I'd say Lovesexy as the mastering on that one is awful.
