Dirty Minds Think Alike: The Forgotten Rivalry of Prince and Rick James

I don't think this has been posted here yet. Interesting article about the two.

Thanks for posting. A healthy dose of competition would do Prince some good these days methinks. Though I can't imagine who could possibly step up to the proverbial plate. shrug

One of the best articles I've read in a long time. There will never be another era that great and I felt like I was almost transported back to that time reading the article.

Andy is a four letter word.

nice post!

P should never play his song on stage like he did on the versace show. Why play a song of a guy that hated you.

Whatev's. I'd play it just as a Fuck you to he dude who's where cuz of what? I'm still selling out arena shows. Who won focker. I doubt that's why he plays em tho...maybe cuz of pupolarity of the tunes, may cuz of some memories which r probably more playful and nostalgic now due to times passage. High schools pranks and competition aren't hate...just testosterone bubbling over.

Their fans were shocked by his persona, ushering him off the stage moments after hearing the electro-rockabilly “Jerk U Off”. Prince’s sexual tones became too intense even for his own band mates. Guitarist Dez Dickerson lobbied for “Head” to be removed from Prince’s live set since this rowdy tale of oral bliss embarrassed and offended him. Having failed to change Prince’s mind, Dickerson eventually quit.

1. Jack U Off

2.Is it me or did they mix up Gayle Chapman with Dez?

Yeah, and Prince definitely didn't launch Sheena Easton's career either, which the article says. There were a few mistakes.
