how many times has prince done the the ride live? i have 4 and love everyone of them. the best one is from the undertaker video. then sacrifice of victor video. also the birthday from miami florida 94. and the one from the aladdin is mad too. i love how prince adjusts the amp at the start of the ride on the sacrifice of victor video. so cool.

the crystal ball version is taken from the london baguleys warehouse show that was recorded and released as sacrifice of victor. it's the same version

my favourite is the version from the garage aftershow in glasgow 95. instead of a slow drawn out version it's a more aggressive heavier version as time was tight before the curfew. the venue was a mainly rock venue and the security guys were best described as stereotypical bikers with no interest in prince, but they all turned round from watching the audience to watching prince when he was playing the ride

The released version is a live version recorded on 29 October, 1995 (am) at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. Three years previously, however, a 1993 rehearsal take of the song had been included as the first track on The Undertaker home video and, released the same day, a 1993 live version was included as the first track on The Sacrifice Of Victor home video (in 2002, this same video version was released as a video download as part of the NPG Music Club Edition # 5).

if this isnt true, its at least way edited

He did this sooooooooo many times in 1993-1998. There must be hundreds of versions. I love the bassline of this song, even if it isn't much of a song. Just an excuse to play the gittar..

The Crystal Ball version is NOT from Bagley's aftershow. There are basically 4 "official" versions:

1) Bagley Warehouse Video

2) Crystall Ball version (from Love4OneAnother Special, recorded live on 28 October 1995)

3) The Undertaker version

4) The Aladdin version.

they kinda sound similar but theres some extra lyrics and the guitar solo is different

maybe because it's from the L4OA video i got it mixed up. i've not listened to that specific track on CB in years, but i've watched the video a few times as it's cool

Crystal Ball version for me 1st & the Alladin version 2nd. I didn't know that Black Symbol guitar was used for that CB version. I turned a lot of people out on that version.

Prince has played The Ride literally dozens and dozens of times. There are some fantastic versions, some short, some long.

For me, the best versions are the shorter ones, Bagley's is probably one of my favorites.
