so i recently stumbled across the 3121 movie trailer. It showed many scenes from this project.

As we know it most likely will never be released. But i was just wondering if anyone has any specific

information on this project. but my question is do u think making a movie like this and promotion it and then not putting it out was done on purpose. He had no intentions of releasing the film alienating his fans. Or just another Project he started and got bored with ?

and the second coming... I read the treatment and it sounded cool. is there any specific info why he aborted this film?

and do u think it will ever be released...

I know little about these projects can some one fill me in, thx

I have no info nor interest in the 3121 movie, but The Second Coming film project was apparently aborted because of clashes with Prince and the director Chuck Statler (at least according to The Vault book).

Looks like The "million days" video came right out of the 3121 movie. and it surprised me that

"Guitar" was included in the film.

I think the second coming if the most mysterious Prince project known. thanks for listing the

movies Director. I will now for sure do some research on him.

Sure they will be released someday. We might all be dead by then but eventually just about everything that he did will be released.

Info on The Second Coming movie seems to be thin on the ground. As you probably know it was to a movie about the Controversy Tour. At some point Prince decided that he wanted to include other scenes making it a "docu drama" type affair. Statler directed the concert footage, including some scenes before the gig which involved interviews with audience members and a mock interview with Prince, Dez and Bobby Z with Jon Bream of The Minneapolis Star, but it was during the filming of the other scenes at prince's home that the friction between the two began, what that involved I do not know.

I remember hearing somewhere that lack of communication from Prince was a factor.

Hope fully prince will have a turn around and release his whole vault. which i beleive he will in the next 15yrs.

maybe his vision of the second coming was replicated with the sign o the times movie. I remember

here on the org was a transcript pf the movie scenes which led alot to the imagination.

I belive that there might have not been a clear vision of what the project should be as with 3121.

everything is always a secret even to the directors. it must be hard working like that.

I used to speculate all the time whether things from Prince's vault would be released officially or not. There are a ton of things i'd like to see reach the light of day, but I have reached the conclusion that these things will not be released in an official capacity while Prince is alive.

I hope i'm wrong.

I have faith in the power of greed. If there is money to be made someone will find a way to release at least some of the vault material regardless of what is in his will.

I would imagine something as old as The Second Coming would have been let go ages ago by now along the lines of Hard Life Madhouse ish.

It's a pity he wasn't signed to Sony....whoever stole MJ's recordings might have been able to get Prince's vault material too LOL....

seriously though, I am resigned to the fact that Prince will not release any of his 'early Prince (1978-96) recordings as they are...he may re-record (and heavily edit) some vault material...but I doubt that we'll see anything officially released without his 'alterations'....extraloveable and 'Large Room' are good examples of how he sucked the life out of the originals...

Prince is strategically waiting for the exact moment when he is absolutely sure these films will have THE LEAST impact and go the most UNNOTICED and make him NO MONEY. He used the exact same strategy for the official release of the Black Album.

If so, then it seems no one bought an Opus, because as far as I know, that footage is not floating around.

So Opus sales = 0?

Someone purchased and received it last year (the youtube was posted here), and someone else also has it.
