I alway's liked vanity , susannah & jill because they are all talented in their own rights , have strong personality's & didn't seem like such 'yes women' . "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

My choices would pretty much mirror most everyone else's, but I have to give a nod to Susan Moonsie, if only for inspiring "When Doves Cry." Besides, I always had a thing for her. The "innocent girl" thing worked for me big time!

Musically
1. Sheila E (Drumming, bands etc) 2. Susannah (Introduced him to classical music and jazz) 3. Lisa Coleman (Him and her had a brief affair in the 80s) 4. Mayte (If not a musician, she was a muse for some of his most passionate ballads) 5. Jill Jones (Savoir fare, her wit and her album was one of his best protege efforts) Worst. Carmen Electra - No talent, all boobs and no substance
Personally
1. Susannah - Prince was head over heels in love with her, but he did not like her independence and intelligence and they came to blows, still he was wildly in love with her, in awe of her 2. Mayte - i know it sounds ridiculous, but Prince was obsessed with her, he wrote big songs about her, married her, had a child and obviously thought she was sexy. Also he could totally control her. 3. Manuela - He seemed calm and mature around her, Jehovahs witness, sexy etc, married her 4. Vanity - Not higher as he messed her around, she was off the rails and their relationship was passionate and volatile. She had no class like Susannah or the submissiveness of Mayte and Manuela. 5. Sheila E - turned an affair into a long friendship, Prince respected Sheila E as well
Honourable mention 1. Morris Day - I still think there was a bit of a down lo thing going on there. The two acted liked a pair of bitches in Purple Rain. The cattiness was a hoot. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I am shocked that Susannah appears on all these lists. Is this about attractiveness or something else? I am just curious because I always thought she was one of the least attractive women that he dated. In terms of their relationship, I never understood why people think he was so head over heels for her or that she singularly inspired his best music. Was he ever exclusive with her? I recall several women being in the picture during that time. I also recall that their relationship didn't even last that long. Yet, on this site some people make it like she was the be all to end all. Is this because of the books that were written that focus more on here than others like Vanity, Sheila, Susan and Jill?
And I cannot believe that people still think Susannah introduced Prince to jazz when his father was a jazz musician. That is ludicrous to me. I am not trying to negate any impact that she had on him, but sometimes the overinflation of her role sounds as ridiculous to me as the people who still think W&L wrote Purple Rain. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Sheila E., always and forever. I find her very hot and interesting, and I like her free and independent spirit.
Mayte because she is a Scorpio. And because I like multilingual people.
Jill Jones. She looks better today than she ever did before.
Those are actually the only ones I can think of. I also find Nona Gaye attractive but I know very little about her. Susannah was probably a big inspiration but I don´t find her particularly attractive. She´s aight, but not exactly hot looking, not even back in the days.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

But my question remains unanswered. How do you know this? How do you guys know who or what his inspiration was for his songs during the period he was with her? She wasn't his only woman then.
He was also at the apex of his creativity as many artists are at that age. He had also reached the apex of his popularity, which brought with it another level of confidence and freedom. So how do you attribute his creations at that time soley to her? perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Exactly. The Loring Park Sessions are very much jazz fusion. It is unfathomable that Prince with his musical diversity and musical lineage would not have been exposed to jazz prior to meeting Susannah Melvoin in the early 1980s. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...
