You're not a true fan when:
- You don't own or try to own all the albums released - For the albums you haven't been able to find, at least have all the songs on a perfect CDr with artwork and all. - Could have gone to a concert but didn't go for some lame reason... - Have no knowledge of at least some of the more important and well known unreleased songs. - Do not take any interest in the man behind the music, which is necessary to get to know the music better. - Invest some time in getting to know the Prince facts, like birtdays, release dates, relationships, the struggle with Warner Bros. - Besides the albums, own the released video's and DVD's and are still searching for the Billboards and Romance 1600 video. - Have a top 5 list with wanna-haves including the original Undertaker CD, the The War CD, the Hit'n Run CDs, a copy of Trojan Horse 88 on video, 51 hours, Strange Tales From The Rain and a cloud. | |

i'd say this thread should be titled "You're not a true FAM..." I have been into Prince since I was in 3rd grade and DO own every album and most of the 12 inches...I don't know release dates, stuff like that, nor do I pine away for bootlegs...hmmph, maybe I should be happy I'm not a 'real fan' | |

I've been a fan longer that some true fans have been alive. I used to be really into his career, but I've gotten older, and with maturity comes other responsibilities and concerns. So Prince has taken a backseat, but he's still in my heart. | |

I am a fan of Prince. It is true that I am a fan of Prince. It would be a lie to say I am not a Prince fan. I love Prince's music and have the music I have of him and enjoy listening to it. I am a true Prince fan. | |

I agree with sawatdiikhrap. You can be a true Prince fan and not know every bit of useless information about him. And spend a ton of money on everything he has ever released. I think we all have a life outside of being Prince fans. | |

Damm, and I thought I was a true fan. Now I realise I've been fooling myself all along and havee been a lying piece of shit fan.
But now I have admitted that, I am also gonna cleanse my Prince Soul by admitting to: Hating most of Emancipation, NPS, Rave and Grafitti Bridge. Finding the whole name change thing rather tedious Believing Chaos + Disorder is a good album, even though it was just "contract filler" Will I ever be forgiven for these highly irregular non-true fan thoughts?? | |
