Never saw that interview. It sounds like she was talking about the vocal version though.

It'd have to be. The instrumental is a lullaby. cloud9

My favorite track on TRC (an album I don't have a lot of love for, in general).

I like almost all of them. I play his instrumental music almost every day, even when I'm not in the mood for Prince's music. "West" and "Xpedition" are probably the two I play the most.

Also:

The Sensual Everafter, Arboretum, From The Lotus..., Gamillah, God, Kamasutra [title track], and all of Xpectation and N.E.W.S. .....

North (I can't describe how many times this song has taken me places. I have played it at least over 50 times. That's 700 minutes of my life, that does not include the many times re-winded it! \IT'S SLAMMING headbang )

Kamasutra/Overture #8 (Come on!! This is just too slamming! headbang This is such an underrated song. It just works so good!)

Barcelona (Another from Kamasutra! The ending of this song is pure magical bliss! It's amazing how the beginning just falls into something dramatic..FLAWLESS)

Shortberry Strawcake (WHOAAAA!!! All I have to say)

Xemplify (PERFECT SOUND..JUST AMAZING)

The Sensual Ever After

Whole Lotta Love Indigo Nite CD (I have butt raped the heck out of this song... lol That guitar is just mean, and all the way insaneeeee! JUST AMAZING!)

eek wow. Honestly, I've probably listened to N.E.W.S. in it's entirety over 50 times [not to mention all the times I've played "North" and "West" by themselves]. That's over 46 hours of my life... I definitely think his instrumental music is some of his best. I put on either Xpectation or N.E.W.S. almost daily.

I agree with "North", "Kamasutra/Overture #8", "Xemplify" and "Whole Lotta Love". The rest I either don't know, or didn't like much.

For whatever reason, I've never thought too highly of "Venus De Milo" or "Alexa De Paris".. and Parade is my favorite [80s] Prince album.

Also, I know it's not entirely instrumental, but it's surprising nobody mentioned "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton" .. especially with all of the love The Black Album gets.

Venus De Milo followed closely by Alexa De Paris and 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton.

The instrumental sections on many of his songs with vocals are better and more interesting than his proper instrumentals. There's some amazing stuff there.

Really? N.E.W.S. & Xpectation are really a strong albums for me! I remember when I first heard Xpectation, I never really liked it. But it's pretty awesome! smile

As a whole 'Kamasutra' is not a strong album. I love the title track, but it's far too long. In the middle & in the end of the song; all of the instruments just play on each other. It's not bad, but far too long. I only like 4 songs, the rest is really weak and predictable. It does not go anywhere.

REALLY? I would agree with you on 'Venus De Milo' I never understood the love for that, it's not bad, but nothing really that I would play often. HOWEVER, 'Alexa De Paris' is INSANE! It's one of his best instrumentals by far. The live drums really add to it. Parade is pretty awesome! smile

I do love '2 Nigs United 4 West Compton' Especially the version on One Nite Alone...It Ain't Over.Aftershow. It's SLAMMING! I dig it! headbang

True

Oh My God I thought I was the only one, I can't get on a flight without playing this song. I can tell you now the perfect way to hear this is flying over the North Atlantic watching the ice plates break up in the sea.

Barcelona (Another from Kamasutra! The ending of this song is pure magical bliss! It's amazing how the beginning just falls into something dramatic..FLAWLESS)

Again True
