Well he stated in DOW that he would rather put on something another wouldn't dare, and something to make a woman stare.

Plus he was still wearing freakwear after he was established, famous, and rich. Times when he didn't need to create a buzz in the media.

Until his older brothers (20s and 30s... thinking the Isley Brothers type) made fun of my boyfriend. Then he finally stopped. The picture of Prince with Mayte where they were wearing all white and Mayte's hair was curly and Prince's hair was straight and he had a thin moustache with a slight goatee.

I wasn't laughing at anyone here. I was laughing at that picture. I have absolutely seen it ALL now after seeing that.

If he's gay, why doesn't he just come out & date men. It's a good time for gay men right now: they could get married, wear whatever feminine clothes he wants & we'd all still really love & support him.

I was reminded of when my mother was telling me that George Michael was gay and I was arguing with her cause there was no damn way he was gay.... and she told me that the gay man at work laughed and told my mom "Barbie... I'm telling you he is gay... we all know our own". So when you and others say Prince is in the closet I keep hearing "knowing our own". Did you see the pic with the pink silky outfit and the fur shaw?? That looks decidedly feminine.

But notice that gay man was correct. It took George Michael being caught in a public restroom for it to come out but it finally did. Sometimes it comes out and sometimes it never comes out but we do know our own. I had George pegged from day one though in the "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" video. Those short shorts, the hair slinging, and here's the real deal sealer....skipping on the stage.

As for Prince in the pink outfit with the fur, I've seen that picture many times. That's him being androgenous as usual. But honey, that picture of him in that dress, that's just going too far. The only thing missing was shaving his facial hair and putting on a stuffed bra and he'd be a drag queen.

That seems kind of harsh. We all have ideas on what is or isnt attractive in a person but attacking someone because they aren't feminine or masculine "enough" is bigotry. Gender is defined by society (as is race) and is a fiction used to seperate human beings.

And to the other gender phobe posters on here many males in other culture wear/wore 'dresses" (kilts, robes, lavalavas) and make-up . So I don't know what the big deal is besides the fact is seems to challenge the sexist culturally defined and narrow idea of what a 'real man' is and is "allowed" to appear. Sad that so many people are so insecure they have to attack anyone who is different or challenges societal 'norms'.
