I notice that the documentary part has been taken from this release and is available.

It's quite good, not really worth all the hype but nice to have and has some nice clips in it.

I just watched the documentary & I'm putting it on my iPod as I we speak The behind-the-scenes insight is absolutely PRICELESS. I just can't get over the depth of this footage, this person had access into Prince's dressing room ffs - Who in the WORLD did it come from?! So when Prince bought Badu up on stage, when Badu & Prince embraced & when Badu was speaking about Prince .. my life literally flashed before my eyes Seriously .. Where was the warning?! Alright, I'm going to stop spoiling it for those who haven't seen it, I apologize BUT I must say I'm just floored right now, I could easily watch this over & over, & over again. Well, matter of fact .. I plan to

I thought that the docu was very average. For all the hype and excitement surrounding it, it turns out to be a 40 min pat on the back, not the backstage insight that everyone is expecting. There is not a whole lot of Prince footage, but a whole lot of Chance Howard or whatever his name is, dancing around and generally acting like a tit. There are some live clips, short interview snippets from various celebretards telling us how much they love Prince.....and......that's it!

The short clip of Prince introducing Erykah Badu on stage in Dallas, and her singing for a few seconds is the highlight for me.

As for the other content, well, for a lot of us it's all been seen before, and once again it seems to have been cobbled together to make up 2 dvd's so more money can be made.

The Prince "fam" contingent will lap this up and swoon over it for weeks, but for people who live in the real world it's just same old same old. The documentary is a nice addition and is good to have, there are some interesting parts to it but for those expecting a rare insight into the life of Prince backstage.....forget it.

^totally agree...while it's nice to have....it'll probably not get much play again....the best bits are on the montage advertising it...seems strange to ahve all these 'bits' in the doco, and not actually hear 1 song thoughout...just glimpses.... at the end of it allmy feeling was that it was kinda frustrating, rather than disappointing...

I can see why Prince didn't release this to the public...

I wonder if this was a warmup for the 3121 movie that was 'never' made....

So yeah this ended up being really boring. I can see why Prince didn't release this documentary. Just random snippets with no overarching narrative or purpose.

Most of the DVD has been out there, the unseen footage is ok but once you've seen it that's it. No big deal. Prince comes across as a bit of a tit with his laughing yes men if im honest. He needs to drop the act and be real. The best part for me was when he nearly fell off the golf buggy dressed as a power ranger...

Yeah he comes across as being pretty calculated with his laughs, especially when he says roll tape then proceeds to do some impromptu scat knowing he's on camera. He's always comes across as being pretty fake though so no surprise there.

It's amazing to see, I always thought he was too himself offstage, but this proved differently. It was fun to see the band sitting underneath the stage waiting for his acoustic set to end.

The Cleophous character by Chance Howard was also funny & to see Prince in his dressing blasting what sounds like James Brown prior to the opening of a show was a goosebump moment. Why do we never get to see this type of footage sooner?

Is this the only cat that can go from an arena to a small venue in no time flat?
