NOT a lot people know who he is, BUT one thing is for certain, Prince seems to have the most diverse fan base. (From my perspective) I've met people from all over the world, who adore him, and liken him in many aspects.

They speak different lanuages and come from all walks of life....BUT they can tell you a thing about SEX, God, Law, & a whole lot things. Hahaha.

You might not recognize them from the jump, by just looking at them, but when you find out they know and love Prince...You've met a good friend! (In my case)

i tend to find now that people in general just are not into music the way i have always been and i think i used to believe that everyone loves music but thats not the case....its not just prince that people are ignorant about...people are ignorant about almost all music artists ...

^That's true. And even among music lovers, there are so many styles and histories that people are into. There's just so much out there, that no one can be an expert on all of it. I love classical music, but I'm really a newb when it comes to knowing the names of composers and their works. But I can generally hear roughly what 'era' it's from.

I don't have a problem with people asking these sorts of questions if they're generally interested, but like I said, it does get a little predictable sometimes (as I'm sure my questions would to a classical enthusiast)
