1st Single From Dream Factory... If the July 20,1986 version of the Dream Factory double album had been released in late 1986 or early 1987,what do you think would have been chosen as the 1st single? Also,what would have been the B-side?

I'd go for 'Last heart' with B-side 'A place in heaven'. Of course P might as well have selected one of the tracks that eventually ended up on SOTT, but there's more fun in mentioning one of the tracks that wasn't released in that era
I've always really liked 'Witness 4 the prosecution', but I'm not sure it would have worked as a single.
So, knowing P & knowing WB, P might have selected an uncommercial single (perhaps 'Witness') while WB might have opted for an easy to digest catchy tune (such as 'Last heart')

I think the title track would've been an interesting first single OR "Teacher, Teacher" (I can't remember if that song made the July 86" cut), but if it did, that song without a doubt would've went straight to #1 on the pop charts. "Teacher, Teacher" has that "Manic Monday" vibe to it, also my choice for b-side, "Splash" or "Adonis & Bathsheba". | |
