...what happened? prince starts playing it and no sound at all, so then he leaves it on the floor like thinking "ok what shall i do now?...hmmm..." so he starts talking on the ear of levi and miko...like saying after the show "someone" is gonna b fired!...and they boh agree!!

How can someone be wrong about which version of a tune they prefer? I'm sure piflacoco knows what they like!

It's not that one is "better" than the other, they are just played differently.

Yeah - but I never got from it that he was pissed with the guitar/soundman. It looks to me as though he is just giving them instruction on how/when he is going to finish - but then, why just those 2 and not the rest of the band? I've tried to lip-read what he says, but its mumbled to cannot decipher.

If memory serves, don't all three of them, after he whispers something to miko and levi, walk in line down the stage, still playing. Can't remember what happens next...!
My guess is that Prince whispers to them something about going straight to the "walk in a line bit", 'cos his guitar didn't work.

Man I've been wondering about that too. My theory is that he picks up the guitar with the sustain bow and there's something wrong with it, so he can't play it. So he says to Miko and Levi: my guitar's broken, we're skipping the solo, but just keep the groove going until I give a sign. Or something like that.

I would hardly call this particular performance a classic.
