not to keen on the covers of the ATWIAD stuff. maybe paisley would have been better, or zoomng in on other parts of the artwork, or using the original painting that inspired the cover, or photos from the videos like raspberry beret cloud suit. without prince on the cover it doesn't look quite the same. the backs are cool though, and prince has released worse artwork himself

Btw the artwork u used 4 Lets Go Crazy, would also be perfect 4 Darling Nikki, if the light were more of pink shadow, than purple. Good stuff

Incredible and impressive Parade-series and Batman-series man!

The front covers of your ATWIAD series have a Warhole-ish print style, and more variety in the layout would make it more consistent with the other 2 series.

The earlier suggested use of the paisley print, segments of the original album's artwork, and also from those great stills of the Raspberry video are indeed good ingredients for a next round.

When Doves Cry/17 Days love that one, although I like the orginal single artwork 2

That When Doves Cry cover is really classy. I love the use of empty black space!

Great update! The Lovesexy series looks ACE! Very strong layouts and i dig how you positioned parts of the picture on both sides of the Alphabet Street single, and also the graphic approach on Glam Slam and I Wish You Heaven.

Strong use of the graphic details and fonts on the backside of the Purple Rain series. The pink title of When Doves Cry feels somewhat more dominant because of its color, while the scales of fonts from the other Purple Rain singles work better imho. If the font layout on the front cover of When Doves Cry would be done like the Let's Go Crazy cover, then the picture of Prince and the two mannequins would come out stronger.

And to the person who said I;'m not a professional, you;re correct, I'm not. I'm still learning about Photoshop and basically working using my own eye for graphics as opposed to using professionakl skills.

If there's repetition it's not lazy though - I am trying to give groups of singles from albums their own look.

Thank you so much! Glad to hear you will be using them. Watch this space cos I will be splitting the backs/fronts so that you can just have the front cover if you wish. Will do this at a later date if that's cool with everyone.

Yeah, lots of negative responses to the ATWIAD collection....

I'm gonna have to go with the majority vote on this one and do a complete redesign on them. Just goes to show fans do generally think alike, and designers don't get everything right first time! Actually I'm pleased because I wasn't entirely sure about what I'd done; it felt right at the time but now I feel like I've got to better myself - which is never a bad thing!

These are really good. Let's hope Prince sees them: with your artwork he may want to make an album to go with your artwork. Imagine a new album, with 4 tracks separately releases as extended versions, not mixes, but proper jamming off the wall extended versions.

I'm sorry, but let's hope he dosn't. Prince has experienced professional artists working for him, that have access to alternate artwork and photos from each album era. granted there have been some mistakes over the years cover wise, some that I felt that I could have done better and captured the mood of the era better. It would be easy for me to post some of the covers I designed over the years, but whats the point? people get their hands on a copy of photoshop think they can do better than a professional overnight and that simply isn't the case.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, it's appreciated. And good to know there are other wannabe designers doing the same thing - would love to see some your stuff man! I know you say there's no point but as a fellow designer I'd honestly love to see.

Something always seems off on the KISS cover (not knocking). He seems constipated.
