Chelsea, please explain the Violet The Organ Grinder one... ? Thats straight over my head!

Violet The Organ Grinder's lyrics"

"I was on my way to another room
when an image of u sweetly
appeared in the mirror
perhaps u recall
u and I were neatly
in the middle of a Crystal Ball
that now serves as a reminder
on the wall of u and I the organ grinder
in the greatest concert of them all"

smile

Sex / Orgasm [just because of their titles]

It's About That Walk / Strollin' [similar titles, but they do work well back-to-back, I think]

For fun.

Connect two songs.

If you had to put tracks into pairs, what would have to go with what?

Obvously not just singles and their b-sides, and not neccesarily from same albums / periods. They could be related by theme, style, instrumentation / arrangement, lyrics etc.

When you think about it, some are obvious, but let's see what comes up...

I did this exact thread a couple of months ago.....

Ooops!

Crucial & Friend Lover Sister Mother Wife

- Though as far as vocals & arrangement are concerned, Crucial and Adore may have more in common, I'd always like to link these two songs together. The melody from 0:10 ~ 0:13 in Crucial (Crystal Ball version), sounds almost exactly the same as 0:26 ~ 0:29 in Friend/Lover/Sister/Mother/Wife, and the melody is repeatedly used throughout both songs. All three are beautiful love songs.

When You Were Mine & I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man

- Both lyrically sad songs but oddly enough, the beat, melody and the whole vibe of these songs are very upbeat and cheerful.

That's an interesting one - I had no idea that was the subject matter? I always thought Power Fantastic was a reference to God? Or is this something to do with Anna Garcia?

Push (D&P) and Cause & Effect

Both have the song titles of their prospective albums within the lyrics (ok I know C&E wasn't on 20ten but maybe it was muted to be)

PUSH

It's Thunder when I'm on the mic (I push)
Daddy Pop's in the house
And U're sure 2 like his Diamonds
Sure 2 like his Pearls (I push)
I'm good 2 Cream every boy and girl
Cuz I'm Strollin', steady, hip-hop, rock and rollin'
A Willing And Able Horny Pony
And I'm pumpin' 'em, I'm pumpin' 'em
I'm pump-pump-pump-pump-pumpin' 'em
From Pakistan 2 Poland straight into yo' town (Get on the mic) {x2}
Snatchin' up kiddies like a circus clown (Get on the mic) (Get on the microphone)
Hahahaha...

CAUSE & EFFECT

I see a generation lay down before they get old
And getting endlessly sold

(You need compassion) for one another
(compassion) righter than wrong
that's what needs to be at the heart of every past
and future soul song
