This video was nice because it contained commentary, and because it pointed out where bits were edited out for the released version. *We* know all this, but it isn't widely known, plus seeing it pointed out in a video is really impressing people. (I've seen a bunch of people say how amazed they were when they saw it.)

As a newbie, I wasn't actually aware that Purple Rain was recorded live.
(And if any buttholes feel the need to bitch and moan about that, I will not dignify your crap with a response, so find more constructive ways of spending your time.)

no idea that the actual live recording of "Purple Rain" existed in video form, access to it.

My humorous rancor was piqued because of the effrontery of those who would decide

to deride me for not having witnessed said video; or thinking that I was posting the thread

with the intentions of providing this org with "news."

My intentions were pure and honest; this is clear because the mods have yet to lock this

thread (or they've yet to lock the thread because the link in the post I provided is dead).

Either way, it was a mod who suggested I post the Lefsetz blog which includes the link
