What do you expect from no talent shit hop gutter trash? Of course they say "fuck playing intruments, this ain't the 60s, we got computers for that shit" because they don't have the talent to play any and if people started demanding it, they would be back in the gutter where they belong. Hell, all the old funk acts should refuse to let them sample and remake their music and shit hop could be driven out of style. The older artists have themselves to partially blame for not even being able to get record deals these days for allowing the trash to sample their records and continue being on top.

Prince has said time after time, he clears samples if there aren't any references to Bitches or Ho's.

Snoop is hardly the only person to sample Prince or try to sample Prince.

2Pac has gotten Prince to clear samples. As did Digital Underground, M.C. Hammer, Public Enemy, etc.

There's a very long list of acts who have sampled Prince.

What I heard was, what went wrong is Suga Free and his team went to Morris & the Time to get permission to sample this and got the ok. They finished the song and started pushing it on the radio.

Prince heard it and had it shut down since someone didn't tell them that he held the rights to it and they were pissed!!!! Suga Free is Snoop's boy, so there's some of the animosity (Power 106 in Los Angeles producer told me the story.)

My take on this is, Prince has the right to approve whoever HE LIKES to sample his music. It's his music. Difference between MJ and Prince, is at the end MJ would do almost ANYTHING and work with almost ANYONE to stay relevant in the pop music. It worked in the 80's and early 90's. Not so much in the 2000's.

But there's People like The Roots that specifically said Prince didn't let them clear samples & they're the friggin' Roots for God's sake [they play their own instruments]! Prince doesn't let nearly as many do it as some would like......He sampled himself, but it's rare to hear others legally sample him.....

Black Milk & Rapper Big Pooh did a whole mixtape sampling Prince songs. it's called "The Color Purple" & the beats were actually pretty dope......
