I got the vid too. But as most of the bootlegs are copies of Prince's Undertaker studio quality CD the sound is actually better than the VHS (Slightly). The video is really cool. It's great to see Prince perform great music so close up. I read that the video was only half finished when it was brought out. I'd of loved to of seen it fully done. Apparently he had lots of ideas for that film which couldn't be finished in time. NOTE: THIS ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE CONTACT “K A M L L E”

I have a copy of this video as well. I find the audio to be distorted, especially on Prince's vocals. Do I just have a crappy copy or is that how it was released? It's still a great performance...

I've got the Japanese Laser Disc, and also one of the original playable Undertaker CDs.
On the CD, The Ride and Poor Goo are slightly longer, and the version of Dolphin is completely different.

The VHS is great.
One of the best home videos Prince ever made.

Not trying to be funny, but I honestly think you just have a crappy copy. Some people are saying that it was "officially" released on VHS and technically that's not correct. If anyone has it on VHS it is a copy from the original PAL format which is probably the reason why some of the sound quality may have been lost (copying from PAL to VHS). But with that being said, still though, my copy on VHS has excellent sound and video, but I also know that my copy on VHS is direct from the original PAL format. If your VHS sounds bad, it's probably a copy of a copy, of a copy etc. "You've got to believe in something... why not believe in me?"

The music is great, but I never liked the video. All that jerky camera work, the cross-fading from the band to the woman ill on drugs, all the '70s style' colour distortion, it makes me dizzy just to watch it! I expect it's trying to represent the woman on a drugs trip, but I don't want to see a woman on a drugs trip, I just wanna see the band tearing it up! And apart from the track 'undertaker' the rest of the songs have nothing to do with drugs. I bought this video along with the 'sacrifice of victor' video from the Baguely's warehouse gig, I was also disappointed with that really, too much of other artists like Mavis Staples and the Steeles and not enough Prince. And the same with the 'Beautiful Strange' video, too much Larry, Chaka and that rapper bloke. And he did the same with the 'Rave' video, Rosie Gaines, Larry, George Clinton, The Time, Maceo and others and occasionally Prince plays a tune, he always seems to want to promote the people around him at the time rather than just putting out a proper 'Prince in concert' video.

If your VHS sounds bad, it's probably a copy of a copy, of a copy etc. Some slight confusion here. PAL is the UK's TV format and the system used by our VCR's is VHS. The US has NTSC as it's TV format and also VHS for video. Any audio differences could come from conversion from PAL to NTSC due to the fact that PAL runs at 50hz and NTSC at 60. Sorry if I sound like I am nit picking, you are right in what you say in that sound pitch differences can occur, just wanted to clear up some terminology. RIP
