Prince's birdcall on the tour

He did a few birdcalls in the beginning of the show, I got so hyper and screamed it too, I was hysterical for the first 10 minutes and then on and off.

Who else finds those high pitched bird calls sexy? When did he first do them and who is the professional that trained him to emulate a bird throughout his career? lol

Ha ha, what tour? And what kinda bird call? I've a really funny story that happened summer 1994. I was sitting out the backdoor of my house whistling to our resident blackbird. It was my wee pal & we used to call & answer one another. Anyways, I kept making my whistle a little more elaborate with a few extra trills etc, trying to get the blackbird to copy me. My big sister was in the bathroom upstairs with the window open listening. Next thing you know she comes flying down the stairs shouting in an absolute blind panic "Mum! Mum! Oh my God!! There's a blackbird oot there whistling Prince!" ha ha, I was trying to teach it The most beautiful girl in world & she thought I was the bird! lol

I find the distracting and annoying.

But, then whenever I think of MJ's "Dahs" and "Ehheee heees" and "Sharmons", I realize Prince's birdcalls aren't so bad. lol

falloff funny story!

Can't believe you were trying to "teach" the blackbird a Prince song! But then, there's people collecting P guitar picks and making realistic outfits for tiny P dolls - it's kinda batty in here, but I love that! And I love these stories.

He does a high pitched vocal sound that goes up and down quickly, he did it after the first or second song on Welcome To Canada, at least on opening night he did.

I'm guessing they're talking about the "Owwa!" and "Ooh-ooh-ooh!" audience callbacks that he sometimes does in concerts.

If it's the 'aow oo ' Prince trademark yelp (lol birdcall), when he does it, its okay. But when yall do it in the audience while waiting for him to come out etc etc you are annoying as all get out (and too damn grown to be doing that). However I understand that an audience waiting to see Prince gets excited. I just could never bring mtyself to do that 'bird call' yelp myself though.

You had me thinking he was doing some actual bird call lol

Perhaps you're referring to the "birdcall" from the very beginning of the song "The Max". I heard that a lot on the Musicology tour. Prince fans were shouting it to each other from all over the arena at the Las Vegas show. Oh-weeeeeeeeee!

I believe that some of the birdcalls that I've heard on Prince's CD's are sounds of native Minneosotian birds.

I do get excited and such but Im not going to be doing any aow oo calls...its simply goofy to me. And for the record, my ego strength is intact enough to not give a damn what anyone thinks of me, trust.

It was the funniest thing ever! She's perched up near a window, there was a seagull crying and she was going meeeoww but it sounded different, more like the bird, and she did it several times while we watched in the doorway lol wish I taped it

Ha ha! It was only the first line of the chorus I was whistling, & in stages so the bird could hear! I can be forgiven for that battiness being only 18 & being completely captivated & besotted with Prince!! Only difference now is that I'm a lot older & slightly less batty however there are some things that will never ever change wink

Since MJ is not going away in this topic, now I'm remembering how we got a dog in the Invincible era when I was also 18 and my excitement was soooo high and I had graduated, and I was staying up for hours blasting off all of his music and then was trying to make my dog moonwalk. After that, she got a little hyper for a bit if I played mj loud, but not really with music my mom played.
