thanks.

yes, graffiti bridge the movie was basically prince putting his fingers up to MJ and saying fuck you, i can make a move far worse than moonraper. but most viewers wouldn't understand that upon watching for the first time. the movie was banned in the UK for being too awful for human viewing, but they released it on vhs so hardcore collectors could retain a copy of the movie safely without having to actually watch it. it became the most popular movie to be shown to terror suspects at guantanamo bay to force them to give up information, as most terrorists couldn't make it past the opening credits without confessing

true story

^ You have GOT to be kidding me lol You know all this banter is only pushing me closer and closer to watching it? Surely its not that awful? I've watched/got Under the Cherry Moon and to be fair, if I wasn't already a fan and reluctant to speak ill of P and his endeavours I would completely slaughter it for being really crappy.. How does it compare with GB?

under the cherry moon is like that black and white award winning movie the artist compared to graffiti bridge which is like a mashup of everything that is wrong in cinema

ray charles and stevie wonder went to the premier of graffiti bridge and made themselves blind afterwards to avoid ever seeing the movie again. in korea the government ordered mass suicides of anyone who even thought of seeing it. you may have seen the image of the guy who got ran over by a tank after seeing it. you would find more enjoyment watching the human centipede part 2

1988 i was 3.. one of my first memories EVER was watching Purple rain with my father.

we watched it all the time. my pops would come in my room and say "u want to watch prince".

I remember at the end of the movie i would ask "why is she (apolonia) crying". he would reply.

"because of prince's song (purple rain)" i did not fully understand till i got older. when doves cry

has been my favsong since.

my next prince memories was during diamonds and pearls. cream, mtv awards ect ect..

been following him practically my whole life.

I knew who he was lol!

I bought my first ever prince tape,I was 10 and I

bought Lovesexy. My parents friends were shocked

cus how can they let me buy that tape and he was naked on the cover lol lol.

I actually kind of dug Phil Collins' Susudeo from American Psycho......

Heard 1999 in a bar back home in Cardiff in 2004

No contest which was better to me

Then bought my Mum an Air Guitar III album for Christmas that year, which she never got to listen to as i Discovered Let's Go Crazy and literally played it over and over and over and over again.

Then When Doves Cry on the radio within a few days of that

Then decided to buy The hits 2 as it was cheap and I heard Controversy

Then admitting to my Parents I was into him, especially my Old man was like coming out of the closet and the rest is history....

suffice to say his reaction was eek

but then I find he owned a When Doves cry single back on the day and a Paisley park single too...

he likes him but just won't admit it (and here's proof)

That is beautiful smile. I was beginning to lose hope in our generation.. In terms of its complete lack of interest in artists/music from back in the day. And then people like you prove me wrong! Prince rocks, and as a singer/songwriter myself, I couldn't hope for better inspiration! What's your fav Prince song smile

Ahh I have so many favorite Prince songs..like The Beautiful Ones, When 2 R in Love, Paisley Park, Pop Life, Crazy You, Do Me Baby, Etc. Yes it's kinda sad to say that I haven't met one person around my age who likes Prince. When I mention his name they would automatically say "you mean that gay guy who wears heels?" They're missing out on one of the most talented musicians ever... and most of them are hooked on people like Lil Wayne and Rihanna thinking they're some of the greatest ever sad I wish I was in my teens/20s during the 70s and 80s

Sameee! I say it all the time, I really wish I was born back then. I love it all, the style, the rawness, it just seemed such a live era!
And atleast then we'd be spared from the garbage others refer to as todays music.. Yeah I know the feeling, it annoys me cos a lot of people my age act as if I should be ashamed of liking him, but I never was big on conformity so couldn't care less biggrin . Totally with you on The Beautiful Ones, When 2 R in LOve, Do Me Baby, and have a few others.. Adore, Thieves in the Temple (acoustic and normal versions,) A million days, Another Lonely Xmas, How come you don't call me, 7, The One.. (The list does continue into eternity so I'm going to leave it there lol .) Have you been lucky enough to see him live?
Jus' sayin..

It's an acoustic album with slight overdubs. It has 'U're gonna C me' on it, which was revamped for the 'MPLS sound' disc of the Lotus Flower package.

There's also an official box set called 'One night alone...live' (triple cd, two discs of concert songs and one aftershow disc), which has nothing to do with the online release of the acoustic 'One night alone'.

Defo want me some acoustic love, but also want to invest in some of his live albums, that man needs to be watched! Do you have any? Any recommendations for those?

The album you are talking about is not acoustic in the sense that you are probably thinking.

Here is the information you will need for it http://www.princevault.co...e_Alone...

If it's an album of Prince singing and playing an acoustic guitar then you need an album called The Truth. It is part of the Crystal Ball box set. Info here http://www.princevault.co..._The_Truth

As for live albums, he only really has two main official live releases. The mentioned One Nite Alone..Live box set http://www.princevault.co...e..._Live! and Indigo Nights http://www.princevault.co...igo_Nights which came with the 21 Nights book.

There is of course the Rave Un2 The Year 2000, and Live At The Aladdin dvd's. These are the only official live shows on dvd.

There are however literally hundreds of high quality bootlegs of live shows both in audio and video.

Use this site http://www.princevault.co.../Main_Page for all the info you will ever need on songs, albums etc. There are blank pages but the site is updated regularly.

Your an absolute star! Thanks for providing this info, having a rummage through as we speak! wink

Summer camp 1987. Kids were walking around singing "Tell me who in the house know about the quake? We do! I'm really, really." And they were real funny, sassy & funky with the "really."

I was like "What is that?"

"That's on the new Prince album."

Ok, I'll check it out. Bought the cassette tape, and I was hooked.
