Prince & Fleetwood Mac

I've been listening to Fleetwood Mac this weekend and as soon as 'Tusk' came on it immediately struck me that that's where Prince got the beat for 'Sexuality'. Anybody else think this given that it has been said that this band has been one of his musical influences?

No, but he probably ripped Joe Walsh's Waffle Stomp for Misunderstood etc. The Fleetwood Mac connection is he used to fug with Stevie Nicks around that time of LRC/Stand Backs.

I'll have to take a listen to Tusk and Sexuality again to see if I agree. I love both songs, but I've never heard much similarity. I do, however, hear a huge similarity between "Drawers Burning" and "World Turning." And of course Prince sampled/reworked "The Chain" (I think that was around the 3121 days?).

And his friendship/acquaintance with Stevie Nicks is well documented here on the org. Also, Sheile E. and her brother have played in Stevie's concerts before, so there's that connection too.

Marva King also sang lyrics from Fleetwood Mac's 'Bleed To Love Her' at the beginning of 'Dreamin' About U' when Priince and the NPG performed it in 1998.

And they were both signed to WB.
