I'm grateful Prince is still around It's just times like these I'm glad he has taken good care of him self. I would be sad that I never got to see him in concert, or thanked him! Sha-la-la-la-la

Indeed, it's times like these that I feel so extremely grateful for having Prince still with us ... rather than him being another one of the big idols we can only talk about in the past!!!! We really need to appreciate him, guys ... just look how many artists are gone way too suddenly and soon!

It's crazy to think....The clean cut artists from the 80's like Whitney, Micheal, etc are gone and the crazy folks like Madonna and Prince are still here. Prime aka The Kid

i love that man so much for what his music has brought to me.

Seriously!!! You can't judge a book by it's cover. I'm sooooo grateful we still have Princey! I think the key is his low-profile. If you don't let the media that close to you, they can't destroy you.

I hate that icons like Michael and Whitney are gone. It makes me wonder just what the hell people like Breezy and Britney are doing so stay alive because those are the crazy assed ones for sure.
I thank God that Prince is still here. And I hope he stays. I love a Man who:

Yeah, I guess being a religious nutter IS preferable to be a kiddy-fiddler or a drug-pig, who knew?!

The difference between Prince and ALL these others that are dropping off like flies is....
He isn't a drug addict!
Look at any of these people that have died in the last 10 years from drugs, for years they all looked horrible! There wasnt any surprise with any of their deaths!
Prince on the other hand looks like he is 32 years old.
I just saw Whitney on stage with Prince and she looked fat and wasted! On the other hand next to Prince he looks like he did in 1986.
hey Prince probably did some drugs in his youth, we all do! But Prince clearly cleaned up his act or he never got into it really, because how could anyone have what 30 NEW albums out in 30 years on top of having what 2500 songs unreleased.... Thats Prince's drug - music!!

Well am not a fan of any sorts of Whitney but like most I appreciate her contribution to the music world and the same thing had crossed my mind of how happy I am and appreciate Primce still being around, it'd be nice to see him get a bit more recognition for what he's doing as all these people who die before their time gain a legendary status but our boy is pushing on strong and not letting ANYTHING get in the way of his music..anyways Prince continues to be a big part of my life and am glad that there's no sign of him disappearing anytime soon

I know .. I would like to be a little more +... Prince's music makes a difference for me almost everyday. I don't know if there will ever be an other like him (no pun intended). If I could think of a way to give back to him something he could appreciate, that would be AMAZING!

Prince music brings uplifting joy, excitement and a hope that heals. His presence at any show, concert or award ceremony brings a certain magic that can't be matched.
You go Prince | |

So, being a vegan is healthy after all????
I agree with the op. He took care of himself and the healthy lifestyle is paying off. I'm very happy to be able to enjoy his concerts.

nuff positivity, when is the old man going to make us happy with an overwhelming new CD containing at least one nr 1. hit? Nr 1 worldwide ofcourse. I expect no less, wouldn't want to insult his talent.

You can say that again. Also take into account that he never gave a rat's ass about pleasing people and having a "wholesome" media image that was against who he was.
Mike and Whit created too many demons being what others wanted and lost themselves, then turned to drugs to numb the pain.
Wheezy.....crazy like a fox. Like Prince and Madonna, never gives a ....what people have to say. Brit....did her crazy and didn't like the trip.
Not to mention, although he dabbled, I don't think Prince ever got into the hard drugs over an extended period of time. Because of their half-baked mistakes, we get ice cream, no cake; all lies, no truth; is it fair to Kill the YOUTH ~~ Party Up

Yes, I'm so grateful too. I admire anyone who's survived the music biz over decades, even those artists of whom I am not a fan. It's very sad when the artists you grew up with and that you take for granted being around start leaving us. I think that Prince (and probably Madonna too, from what little I know of her bio) is a very resilient fellow - I'm sure he's faced a lot of the same pressures and pitfalls as any other star, like career nadirs, harsh criticism, rejection, perfectionism, burden of people depending on you, isolation, idolatry, expectations, easy access to vices, and he's had personal tragedies too, but he's got mental hardiness. As he said on Tavis Smiley, he's a fighter. You can "measure" an individual's psychological resilience ("resilience" literally meaning "the ability to bounce back into original shape") by viewing 1. good outcomes regardless of high-risk status, 2. constant competence under stress, 3. recovery from trauma, and 4. using challenges for growth that makes future hardships more tolerable (i.e., seeing positive meaning in negative experiences). My daughter has some issues so I've had discussions w/ my brother, who's a clincial psychologist, and we've had sessions w/ a child psychologist too, and it's our number one goal to try to raise a resilient person, because life's a bitch and if you're psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually fragile, you will break.
