Prince Shhh Paris 2011

Found this video floating around on the web and I have to say starting from the 2:23 mark thru to the end may be some of the most beautiful notes I have every heard Prince play on guitar. Granted, Shhh is one of my favs but stiill, just when I think I have seen it all I come across something like this and am blown away.

Is it just me? Or is this not something special?

Yeah that whole Stade De France gig is fabulous !! I hadn't seen one of those fan filmed compilation type releases before and it works really well ! Good stuff !

Yes, I have heard him play it in Phoenix and Toronto and each time it was a highlight. Over the years the guitar solo has been change up subtly, but the paris version has some new nuances that are really special. For example in the referenced video, the little ditty he cranks out at 2:23 to 2:34, and then the rest of the solo up to when JB's part comes in is the best I have heard for that first solo. The ending solo of course is epic as always.

After about 5 listens, I did also. Only after repeated listens do you start to pick up some of the beauty in his chords.

Are you guys talking about the solo from his TV appearance or the Stade De France show? Both versions are great but I think I may prefer the TV appearance. He absolutely DESTROYS the guitar solos in that one.
