Typically those promo cd's of the lesser known and distributed singles end up having some value. I always see the "Man-O-War" Promo selling for like $35-45 on ebay (although that one has a pretty cool design).

Of all the great songs Prince has, Why would he want to release this as a single? It's so slow and boring. It doesn't show the great talent he has.

it's the only song on the album that lyrically stands alone. all the others are too bogged down in dogma.

it's a pretty love song.

I don't think TRC is bogged down. I think it's an uplifting album.

i'm speaking in the context of trying to pull a song off the album and have it make sense on the radio. all of the others are wrapped up in the story/spirituality.

The Rainbow Children promos will turn out to be worth more, if only because of rarity. This album was an independant release, so most likely the promos were pressed on a limited basis.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I think it's nice and all but it's probably my least favorite track on the album.

C'me on. "She Loves Me 4 Me" is one of the best songs in "rainbow children" and the only one with single potential.

Because every since 1994 he has led off an album with a ballad - a blatant attempt to gain ground in the R&B market.

I don't know why he bothers (well I do), the stuff that would have sold the albums is not the ballad/slow track (not as a lead single any way).

>> Come: Letitgo, Space
Loose!, Pheromone - And INTERACTIVE!!! if he'd have left it on - SUCH a crime that this song was not a single.

>> TGE: (technically TMBGITW), Eye Hate U
Christ, this album had so many single-worthy songs it's not even funny - Endorphinmachine, Pussy Control, 319 for starters.

>> Chaos & Disorder - Dinner With Delores
Not actually a bad choice, but then this album wasn't exactly compiled with the best of intentions was it.

>> Emancipation - Betcha By Golly Wow
No, no, no, no NO! Over 3CDs and THIS was the lead single?! I like it, but not as a lead single for his first independent release when he needed to give the project a real push.

>> New Power Soul - The One
Again, another languid ballad, nice song, but not as a lead single - Come On was the stand out track of the album.

>> Rave - TGRES, Man O' War
I STILL get people asking me about Baby Knows & So Far, So Pleased - these two songs would have done wonders as singles.

>> TRC - She Loves Me 4 Me
Jerk Off - One of my fav. Prince songs from the past few years, but not a lead single.
