Agreed...a great performance! Funny how the version shown at the first Celebration was of no better quality than the version that is floating around.

Songs performed that night were the foundation for the studio(overdubbed) versions of Let's Go Crazy and Purple Rain.

You could feel the heat in the room... the funk was that thick, you have to remember to catch your breath watchin it.

I JUST got it and watched it over the weekend. It's everything they say it is. I don't think Let's Go Crazy was used - Baby I'm A Star was definitely used, but Let's Go Crazy was all studio I thought. But who cares - yeah, it's all that.

I ALSO caught the America video - the one with him in the big ole black hat and overcoat - MAN! THAT performance BLEW MY MIND!

I agree on all points, otan. Great '83 performance, and the America video is so phucking hype! Obviously a song he was proud to get into.

This one is fantastic! I just love his early trial of "A Case Of You", the wonderful "Electric Intercourse" and the irresistible "I Would Die 4 U". You can get the video on "Sound & Vision, vol. 1", the quality is great. But remember that you don't have to buy boots wink
