From EW.com, the apparent songs and who'll do them.

Christina Aquilera: "1999"
Adam Levine: "I Wanna Be Your Lover"
Cee Lo Green: "Little Red Corvette"
Blake Shelton: "Kiss"

As usual, nothing post '86, I see.

For real, mad biggrin

I'm actually surprised they didn't use any PR tracks. Which I'm grateful for.

Same. To quote from that Little Britain skit of Shirley Bassey:

The video clip has been removed from NBC the voice website. Is this Prince's doing by threatening to sue? Just curious

You didn't miss anything, although there were some tasty guitar and keyboard licks on "1999".

And props to Adam Levine for trying "I Wanna Be Your Lover" but dude was several notes off.

I agree. That part had me wincing a bit, but it's the thought that counts, right?

The hosts of any show getting up to do a medley just screams "corny" right from the jump. But I thought these guys did a decent job considering the shitty concept and also the face that Prince is hard to cover. I'm glad Adam didn't do Kiss because his falsetto isn't quite there to pull it off right. They were smart to bring it back to the song's roots as a quasi-Country number. Blake was good.

I think it was decent. Adam was good but Cee-lo stole the show. I also have been watching the show and it is just what the name says, straight to the point.

I liked it, and I bet that medley will introduce Prince to a lot of younger viewers. That episode of The Voice got huge overnight ratings, in fact.

I liked Blake Shelton's version of "Kiss" - cause he is the only one who really changed up the style of a song (I think Prince probably liked it. I wish they had played one of his newer songs, too, though.

The best way to watch The Voice, if you want to skip all the sappy backstories, is to DVR it or watch clips of it on Hulu. The Blind Auditions are really cool - but the backstories and interviewing are not.

She doesn't screech. She gurgles a gutteral roar.

I do not care for her voice at all.

Love how Cee-Lo Green borrowed Prince's costume from the W2A Tour! It was good. I don't expect any tribute to be better than the original artist. But it was a good effort.

I lived through that and was impressed. As brief as it was, they did very well on songs that are almost older than they are. It must be because those songs still belong to WB or Universal they were able to get the rights. I'll give them a three out five stars, but I'm not going to watch the show because I suffer from apathy.

Whenever these shows do Prince songs, I get excited. If anything it's only helping put Prince's music out there cool

I was impressed with Maroon 5's instrumental cover of Purple Rain when I was at their concert, but Adam disappointed me with "I wanna be your lover". His voice is only good for his own songs =(

Ain't nobody trying to be the real thing. It was simply a tribute and it was respect to Prince. I liked it myself. I wasn't crazy about Blake's version of Kiss, but at the same time I guess it was cool to have his own country stamp on it.

In an interview on Jimmy Fallon's show a couple days ago, Adam Levine thanked Prince for giving them clearance to the songs - so it sounds like they ran it by Prince himself, not just WB. Adam also said that Prince rarely grants clearance to his songs, so they were grateful.

Saw it, was pretty nonplused. The truncated group versions didn't help. Much prefer a solo effort by Ceelo. Don't even get me started on that countryfied version of Kiss, scary bad.
