"through the door or through the wall". You were more than likely to hear this phrase if you got in any close proximity to Prince when Big Chick was around. Even though the guy was probably a real dick back in the day..he's still cool in my book. Mr.Huntsberry was a real bad ass. Chick brought alot of color to the Prince entourage. Come on, the guy looked ridiculous.Everyone knew who he was. I can't think of one celebrity who has had a bodyguard that had such a profile and noteriety as the Mighty Charles "Monster" Huntsberry. The sad thing is that i think a lot of the fans forgot about him. Granted he was coked out of his mind, dicked prince over for drug money,ripped some guys ears off,and handed out some severe beatings on the Controversy tour. Yeah, those are pretty negative things but heres some positives. He repented and turned into a preacher. That, I would've loved to see. Screw Larry Graham's bible studies. I'm going to Big Chick's. Add to that "We Can F*ck" was his favorite Prince song. Thats cool for me.
Unfortunately Big Chicks no longer with us, but I know somewhere in the heavens he's probably working J.C.'s security.
Oh those were the days.
Well heres some of my favorite Big Chick moments:

Vanity 6's Drive Me Wild video. Chicks sportin a rude boy shirt, red cape, some funky ass black glasses, a crown, and a gold sceptre. Enough said.

James Brown Special; Chick carries Prince on his shoulders to the stage. Prince takes off his white gloves and throws them in the crowd. Crowd throws them back at Prince. Big Chick takes one in the face. Now thats a Bodyguard.

I met Chick twice in the middle 80s and, while he was definitely an intimidating man, he was very nice both times I spoke to him. REALLY huge, though!

It took me awhile to work up the courage to approach him the first time. The second time I met him was after he became religious and he came to my town for a speaking engagement at a church. I remember he cried while he spoke about his past, and how finding God changed his life.

He passed away not very long after that, if I remember correctly.

My favourite "Big Chick" episode was when Prince won an award at the BPI awards in the UK in 1985.
Holly Johnson presented the award to Prince by saying"I've never met this man before,but i have had sex with him over the telephone" Prince looked as if he wasnt going to go up and accept it but Big Chick stood up and made a gesture with his thumb as if to say "Up Now".
A classic Prince moment for me!!

The avatar pic is one of my most favorite photos of her. She looks so happy and sunny, and it just makes me smile every time I see that particular photo.

I have a ton of books also. Just got one from my valentine Haven't read it yet, but it has some awesome rare photos that I haven't seen before!! Yes, that is a very uplifting photo!!
