how come prince never went on stage with james brown and michael jackson?

rumour has it that an opportunity arose sometime in the mid 80s. both prince and mj attended a james brown show. james called michael to the stage and he performed his riverdance routine. james called out for prince to join them but the purple sex lollipop was too busy in the toilets, licking his own reflection in mirrors and sniffing copious amounts of colombian marching powder (allegedly!!!)

sadly it will never happen now.

He did go on stage according to Jackson. Prince played 2 and 4 on the drums for a few minutes and then did his trademark moonwalk over to James, then hit the splits screaming MACEO blow your Mutha Fuxxing horn.

He then checked his bad self in a full length mirror that Jerome brought to stage and then took it to the bridge with Wally and the kid from the Goonies movie. They then proceeded to take it apart with a double portion of squirrel grease and then chicken srcatched their ass out of there on the back of a large white haired camel named Billy, who wore some insane red rimmed 70's hoopla glasses.

I'll believe it when I see it on youtube though.

all the hoo-haa about this cracks me up - he wasn't 'that' bad and certainlly not obviously 'drunk' or 'stoned off his head'....if he didn't pull the lamp down it would hardly ever be mentioned...

Anyway, I clicked on it but couldn't watch all the way through - it goes on for a painfully long time. And I'd read that one of his people in the car w/ him after that show said he was very silent and very upset w/ himself.

Feel bad for you guys n girls with this constant topic..But i guess it is understandable. How often do you see 3 of the most important and talented male performers in the same place on the same stage..If ever.

I like looking at subtle moments in clips..So I liked how obviously prince came on piggy back..threw gloves into the crowd as a POSSIBLE nod or mocking to mj..maybe a hardcore fan of jackson threw it back in a fit or rage and disgust at the jibe...I like the way prince almost didn't even hug jb when he came on stage...Maybe threw nerves or coz he didn't give a ..

I love the face prince makes when he plays that killer hook for a few bars and when prince is just waiting and making sure jb is watching when he does the mike stand move..JB wasn't watching though as his back was turned putting prince's jacket down.

Also like the strength of prince.Even though he makes the lamp fall down..He holds it up with his arm..Strong guy

prince's performance is not that bad. he plays a guitar that's not his, without his pedals, and makes a decent sound out of it. He dances a little, he shrieks a little but more importantly to me, he takes control of the band. notice he holds the V sing up telling the band two notes, and how the drummer started following Prince's direction?

too bad the clip was cgi'd and photoshopped at the same time.
