Ok so its taken me 9 months to even get my head around seeing Prince for a week straight let alone getting it all together to tell the story. Well here it is - I broke it down into two parts - this took me hours and hours so do please take a look -

Holy shit, I'm just about off to sleep but thought I would quickly browse through, then I saw the segment on night 3(?) with the Beginning endlessly opening (which is probably one of my favourite shows of recent years, just for the opening 5 numbers), then read further into some of the other nights and then that Aftershow where you were invited by Rashida?!

Considering you only did a weeks worth, I think you'd managed to get the absolute best out of everything

I really was hoping that Prince would have done some amazing documentary about his time during the 21 night stay. Imagine interviews with the band, behind the scenes footage and songs in their entirety?

Honestly, it would have been an incredible 2 hour doc for HBO or SHOWTIME or something, but it was another missed opportunity, IMHO.

Just read this. Very good breakdown of the L.A. residency (including Troubadour, HOB) - THANKS. I'm so, so, SO mad that I missed all this, and I live in L.A.!! And you got like 3rd, 4th, 8th row seats for $25! Well, at least I got to read this. Didn't realize how many rarities he played over those 21 nights (and how many covers).

Btw, did you do that "Prince B-day mix" - it was great to listen to while reading your page!

Saw the 1st show it was fantastic

oh man u got to see a forum club show .... had something to eat in that place n i asked a forum worker standing in front of the velvet curtain if i could look in n she said ya .. whatta intimate setting with the stage setup .. i was pissed when they said noone in after 11 .. &^%$ lucky fucker u

@jonylawson - Give Tricky a second chance! - His output in the 00s was bananas - Blowback - Vulnerable - Knowle West Boy - Mixed Race - are all classics - I think you would really like them.

@Pole - No worries, I wish you could have gone too, but that's why I wrote this since everyone didn't get to go this would give them a chance to get caught up. Hope you get to go next time.

@Gunsnhalen - I'll bet your excited for the Van Halen tour this Summer! (me too!) That first show looked incredible and like I mentioned was the one to catch.

@FunkysideEffects - In the past, the after-parties you just had to know where they were and be willing to pay whatever they were asking for no gurantee, and Im sure that will continue in the future. For the Forum run, and I didn't learn this till the final night - the shows were invite only and you had to have a special pass to get in and the only people that had those passes were band/crew members.

It should also be mentioned that I believe of the 15 shows he did at the Forum, their were only 4 nights were he did the Forum club shows - I could be wrong but that's what I heard.

I was appreciative of the low cost ticket price n was thinking what do u get for 25bux i mean its prince the man who can charge 3 grand a ticket to see him. It was a hits show n thought o bro idk if i can do any more of this, 1nce is enuf.

Then the lights came down the crowd roared n he did his thing.I got into it, jelled felt every note n remembered why i dig the mans music. LRC was done diff n was terrificl. COOL was rockin.One of those first songs he did blew me away what was it, was it lay hands or something from emanc i dont remember. That piano mixer thing i coulda heard that all night. Wanted to hear a lil more from Ms Keys glad she got onstage.

Sorry to say maybe im not up to date on music i wasnt into mint n those 3women playin from half way up the aisles. Spaulding was good especially when he came out n jammed w her. One of those nights we stayed after it was over the crowd who were there wasnt leaving n they went into cheering for days i think it was what an 1/2 hr later he came out n wailed that was very kewl. One of those tickets said u had forum club access but not the show after fukin hell i was raging that was fucked n for those who saw a gig n there ure lucky as can be im hella jealous. Plz tell me someone caught it on a phone video ..

Im glad i didnt spend top cash to themall n didnt really wanna do 21 shows of the same thing.Whitless n Kardumshian bla bla i got to see Gwen, Alicia , Cuba n Kirstie Alley havin fun onstage. Thought of other shows ive seen n was thankfull. Now can he take over Vegas again n just kill it with everything hes got cmon its time to unleash the beast. Just pls dont charge a zillion to get in.
