Question about 'Days of Wild' from Crystal Ball Was listening to this in the car the other day and there's something that's always bugged me. Shortly after the little fella asks the crowd to start singing 'free the slave' they comply with his request but also start singing something else that the band pick up on and play along with. For the life of me, I cannot tell what they are shouting at him.
It's no biggie but if anybody knows, please post.

I'd have to go back and listen but I always thought it was "slap that mother f**kin bass". That's what I chant anyway (problem is I chant it while I'm running and the looks I get . . .)

Not being rude

These lyrics depsite being in my oponion correct are merely a fans interpretation

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's what they're saying... if that's the part the OP is talking about. [Edited 1/25/12 22:46pm]

Sorry to derail this topic, but I too have a question about "Days Of Wild".
This picture was posted in the Musicology era thread. It's from the RNR Hall Of Fame. Read what it says about "Days Of Wild".. I'm pretty sure they're misinformed -
It says: "Days Of Wild ... Recorded by Prince and the Revolution ... intended for release on a three-album set proposed name Crystal Ball (1987) Warner Bros. ... Prince trim the ambitious project down ... eventually released as the 1987 double album Sign O The Times"
Days Of Wild wasn't from the 80s... was it? Or have I misinterpreted what this (cut-off) picture is saying?

Yeah, there are a few great live versions of DOW, but one of my favourites is the version on The Dawn bootleg. It seamlessly blends the CB version with the live version from Paisley Oct 1999 (which can be found on NPGMC Ahdio Show #1) so you get that wonderful, noisey and chaotic guitar solo at the end. Great track.

I interpreted you saying "but not these" as being not the lyrics to DOW so calm the fuck down ok?

I used to go to these shows and was at this on. The call and response was "Free the slave. These are the days, these are the days!" "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."
