Songs from For You and Prince would make an amazing show.

Totally.

For his tour last fall, Richard Thompson did something I would love to see Prince do. At his shows, Thompson had a hat with slips of paper, each of which had the name of one of his albums on it. He'd draw one (or have a member of the audience do it), then do a mini-set of three or four songs from that album.

It was awesome. nod

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Oh, hell yes. I'd be there in a heartbeat. I love almost all the songs on both those albums. (And a song like "Baby" is a perfect opportunity for Efan to hit the head and then grab another beer.)

This trend of artists performing a whole classic album live, I guess it falls into the whole 'retro' fad of the 00s, but I still think it's pretty cool.

There are some albums that I wouldn't really want to see the Prince of now perform as a whole set, but some of them like the first two, or SOTT, hell yeah.

I dont mind some bands doing the classic album performances but what I would not and at times do not even now enjoy as much is Prince performing specific songs form specific eras without the bands from that time. I guess him being the main artists its okay overall but Im not trying to see or hear the 1999, Controversy, PR albums etc played without those smeinal bands that were part of the royal court at those times.

LoL ! i would go see P play if his only instruments was 2 tin cans and a wash board !

but for real, That is actualy a good idea. I allways thought it would be cool if

he has another Purple Rain tour and performed the album in its entirety.

I'd love it if he did a show like that. It'd be incredible.

But like others already said: HE has to sing the songs HIMSELF, no Andy or whoever else.

Yes But I am sure first we would have to hop in a timer machine with the dial set for Nov 28 1979, Roxy Theatre Los Angeles. Why would Prince or any artist want to play archaic songs from the beginning of their career. Thats like going to an exhibition of Greek vases and only seeing items from the Early Cycladic and Minoan periods (To 2000BC) and missing the Mycenaen, Geometric, Corinthian, Archaic and classical periods.

u need to clarify please .. will these records be performed via medley or sampler set?

either way no thanks ..

ANY show with all the songs on ANY prince record played to at least their full length if not the extended remix version i would happily pay to see ANYTIME ..

i dont even care if its a crap record he is playing .. just no more medleys .. no more bar singers on lead .. no more one chord funk jams where he shouts out 5 different song titles and gets the crowd to chant them .. no more jazz versions of perfectly good songs the way they are .. just play it right or don't play it at all ..

prince is a solid record .. for you would be interesting enough .. i'm there

throw in his original touring band .. that would be sweet

Because clearly tons of his fans would love it and pay ridiculous amounts of money to see it. I'm sure it wouldn't be as profitable as the hits shows now, but fans would love it.

I would definately go!!!! That would be a GREAT show...the Prince album is one of his best, I'd rather hear it than his 80s stuff(besides PR and SOTT). I'd pay regular price for this show like his others, around $200 for floor seats. I Wanna Be Your Lover, Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad, Still Waiting....enough said!
Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

Yeah but a 53 year old man croaking along to barely adolescent sex songs wriitten by a 19 year old. A 53 year old man acting out teenage lust and humpa humpa would look sickening. The idea reminds me of a Rod Stewart or Gary Glitter concert.

Plus he would probably struggle with the falsetto. Prince wouldn't do it as those songs apart from "I wanna be your lover" and maybe "I feel 4 U" all sound too immature for an artist like him to do now. Imagine the heavy breathing and suspurations from Soft and Wet from him now.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
