A remixed version (known as The Moneyapolis Mix) was included as the second track on the 2001 companion album Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic.

While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in Summer, 1999 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA; Public Enemy rapper Chuck D added his rap in mid-August, 1999, at Paisley Park Studios. This song is believed to be the only collaboration between Prince and Chuck D, but in July or early August, 1999, Prince recorded a cover version of Public Enemy's Fight The Power.

Agree 100%. This was his worst period ever image-wise. There was nothing even remotely cool about a man in pigtails and shiny wetsuits.

I love his look around this era. The clothes and the hair, though I don't care for the 'Notorious' picture TheDance posted.

And the Hit+Run Tour 2000/2001 was one of my favorite tours of his.. maybe my favorite. I loved the band, the setlists, and that he played guitar a lot. I don't listen to bootlegs much.. but the Oakland 2001 show is one of my favorites.

That was my first Prince show. It was damned good. That was right before he went full cultist, so he did a tight set with all the profanity and grinding on his dancer during Darling Nikki. He gave some crazy sermon as the second or third encore. Unfortunately the afterparty got announced on radio so the club had a line down the block by the time we got there.

But his looks at that time were nuts. The clothes ranged from lunacy to brilliant, but the hair was always ridiculous.

The name alone is worth the listen! I find myself mesmerized by 'Tangerine'! AS I just wrote on another thread, it's just my favorite from the album! The extended version is where it is!! smile

It's such a weird era for him PERSONALLY and SPIRITUALLY. He was awakened yet sleep, it seems. Many metaphors and contagious theories, that just grew as each day went on. It eventually birth out 'THE RAINBOW CHILDREN' The era is pretty FANTASTIC! The look was a bit ALL over the place, the blue was so popular back in the early millennium! Even Michael Used it...lol

It's very underrated to me as well..STILL ONE I ENJOY! smile

I LOVE Tangerine too, it blends well actually with Tick Tick Bang(81) Tamborine Tangerine and a few songs from Prince
