Hi all I'm new here but I'll cut to the chase. Well on Sunday nite 10/13/02 I turned on the T.V. right in the middle of a commercial and at first it was Elton John on stage playing the piano and then all of a sudden "BAM" a camera turn and there is "P" playing his black baby grand singing little red corvette to a hyped up croud. The concert was from around the SOTT era because of his outfit and hair style, and then the camera man walks off stage to a back alley and sitting there was the new retro Chevy pickup in bright red with the top down (it's a bad azz truck too). Anyway it was an exciting commercial, hope you all get to see it soon.

Yeah sure was, I thought it was some kind of rock and roll awards show that I had not heard about at first.
The way it sounded at the end of the commercial was like some kind of dedication to them from Chevy or something but like I said i caught it in the middle.

I just saw it for the FIRST TIME last night - prime time - during Law & Order: CI. It starts off showing some other artists from different decades, including Elton John, then boom - Prince is sitting at his piano singing "Little Red Corvette". It's great because he's the only artist you actually remember from the commercial.

Righteous1, what show were you watching? I must be on the wrong channels, 'cuz i haven't seen it yet.

I've seen it a few times. The last time was while I was watching Survivor on CBS. It's a great commercial and it was too cool to see Prince on my TV screen again.

Is this commercial only gonna be shown in the US?
I live in Canada, so I'll probably see it..but just making sure.

I haven't caught this on TV yet. I guess somebody will tape it and put it on a tape with some other Prince TV stuff and sell it.

It came on and I was hardly paying attention. Then I realized it might be the elusive Prince commercial I'd heard about. Then saw him on the piano. Cool to see him get some due that way.

Yeah, I finally saw it too. It's a neat spot. It just sucks that it was probably used without the man's permission. And that's the downfall of Warner's still have control and say over things like that.

I have,2 times now, I SCREAMED when I saw it! It's so cute.it's neat the way they did it. My husband noticed it the 2nd time,it even got his attention. I like it,it made me remember a lot of things,really good things. Thankx Prince:)

Speakin of tv---does anyone know who is the Prince look alike in Missy's video "Work it"? He looks like one of the guys that posted their pic here before

I heard about it but haven't seen it yet, I even went on the Chevrolet web site but no luck! Any links to it let me know. Finally he's letting himself get some much needed publicity.

As crazy as it sounds, I hope others saw this and realize that they need to get to know this music if they don't know much about it.

Ohhh...Man! What is this world coming to?! On one hand I understand he needs to market himself and his music since he has very little friends at the top of the music industry, but TV commercials??? I personally limit my television experience as much as possible, but he already has me so he is not worried about us in this type of campaign. I really don't have any ideas yet, but I do not agree with the Chevy commercial. Ever since I was little I always respected him for steering away from this medium as much as possible and honestly I thought that it was a mistake and our homie was going to sue. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, but now does he become a slave again? I mean, he is resorting to a medium that comes with rules. Maybe the same rules? I don't know. I know a man needs to eat, but he was so set on following his own rules.

Quiet as it's Kept somehow I get the Funny feeling By Prince Allowing Himself in this Commercial not only helps His Catelog&whatnot but also helps Him trying too get into the Rock&Roll Hall Of Fame.the Guy needs all the Plugs He can Get.He is thinking of something far more than a Commerical here at work IMHO.
