The movie, the era, as well as the album?

Just curious confused

Saw it for the first time about five months ago; I really like it. To me, and certainly individuals can take it for what it means to them and disagree with my thoughts, the message is, complex and sophisticated. "It's Just Around the Corner" seems to address JW teachings (yes, I do understand he was not one at that time); Pandemonium is the capital of hell in Milton's Paradise Lost; and the rings of fire inside of the Pandemonium bring to mind Dante's Inferno and the seven circles of hell.

Hadn't thought about it until I saw the posts, but, yeah, I can see the extension of LoveSexy.

Complicated and confused would be a better way of putting it. It's not successful in whatever it is it's trying to say. Even IF he's trying to make some intertextual point, it's incredibly clumsily done and it would be an insult to Prince himself to accept it as it stands.

It's just a movie you get or don't! I happen to get it! smile

So the people who dislike it (and for good reason) "dont get it"?

No...I'm not implying those who dislike it for good reason "don't get it:. What I mean by "Get it or don't' get it" is that it's a movie to me that's black and white. I don't find many people in the middle about it. From my experience people have been either/OR. They got the flow, while some did not. BUT, there are shades of gray where people enjoy the good things and bad things about it. I understand why people dislike it though. Maybe I should have added 'IMO'. lol But to answer your question...No, I'm not saying those who don't like it (for good reasons) don't get it. cool

It's a unique concept, that fails at ever truly making sense, YET still makes some sort of sense. We know that 'LOVE' is a theme that is very strong. It's just a movie you get or don't! I happen to get it! smile

it had fuck all to do with me!

falloff Hahaha Not you 'Unique' Hahahaha

I watched the film for the first time a few months ago and had to go out around thirty minutes before the end. I didn't see the rest for another week or so because I just wasn't that bothered.

I didn't really care enough to rush back and finish it.

And I think Prince looked awful at this time! Really unmasculine and not an ounce of sexiness left.

He had turned his character into a whimp! I really didn't like Ingrid either.

The only saving grace is some of the performances were pretty cool. I like the album too. Although he needed to leave the others off there.

I'm sure I'll watch it again to try and gauge a better opinion and hope that it grows on me.

But since I found out about that 3121 trailer, I've been down on my knees beg for that release!!!
