I once bought a black and white polka dot shirt after seeing Livesexy. And I think I grew my hair long because I liked the way his long hair looked. Have you ever been influenced or seen someone replicate his look, like walking down the street or something?

Funny, cause seriously, I used to wear button-up pants and white blouces with ruffles a long time ago, I THINK I INFLUENCED HIM! just kidding !

Of course! If you are old enough to have been with him in the 80's and old enough to get in clubs at that time the lace gloves were all the rage!
I bought my first pair of high top sneakers cuz of Wendy in the Purple Rain poster.
I bought a trenchcoat at a 2nd hand store, dyed it purple and bought the silver studs and put them on myself and topped it off with a Rude Boy pin!
At a vintage clothes store I almost had a heart attack because they had a white lace cape like he wore on the Purple Rain tour--with fringe and all. I bought it, don't remenber how much I paid but I was young and broke at the time so whatever it was, it was probably alot to me but I had to have it! I kept it for a really long time and just recently let mom sell it in a yard sale--hmmm...maybe shouldn't have...even though it just hung in the closet.
Also had lace shirt with the ruffle down the front.

Even when I shop today, I'll think how Princely something looks--like if it's paisley, or lime green or something.

A couple years ago a Prince fan friend of mine bought me one of those winter scarves that is made outta chenille loops and it very soft and bulky around your neck for Christmas. It reminded me and him of that sweater Prince wore around Emancipation period with all that around the neck! I love that scarf!

And of course, I too have the black and white sheer polka dot shirt a la Sign O The Times era!

It's so much fun being a Prince fan! Isn't it?
Just go down memory lane and think of all the fun and silly times you had and people you met that you wouldn't have if it wasn't for Prince and you liking him.smile

Polka dot shirts were fashionable in the UK back in '88.I bought a couple at 'Top Man'.I'd like to think it was down to Prince that designers started stocking them.

I seem to remember owning a lot of paisley shirts too.

I could never find any white shirts with black polkas though. It was always black with white polkas.

I had the black shirt with white polka dots too! I wore & washed it so much that the spots started to fade!

I once bought a peach coloured shirt too but only wore it once.Peach does not look good against an English pallour!

If I dressed like Prince, I'd have been bashed into oblivion. The closest I've come to being influenced by his fashion sense is wearing the color purple.
