Not one chance in world he would do that. He'd be stupid if he did and it would absolutely not fit into anything he ever did. Part of why he is a star is because he was always a very private person.

And that's what I also appreciate about him. He makes music and doesn't talk much about himself. Actually, I can't stand the self-portayal and self-appreciation of many "celebrities" Sure, Prince is a megastar and on one hand I would also like to know more about him, but thinking about it, it just doesn't fit and it would destroy parts of why I love him.

Exactly. The only way it would be any good is if a pissed off ex associate of his that never got over it wrote it because they would tell the real dirt. Someone as pissed as Rick James but with inside information.

I love cheeseburgers, why isn't there more love for cheeseburgers? I think the reason is that they are often not properly cooked. If they were cooked well then they would become everyone's favorite dish in the 21st century, and people would totally give up eating hot dogs! I also wonder why people always talk about politics because politics isn't as important as cheeseburgers. And also what do you think about Jesus? Was he a cool guy or just a scam? Mmmh... This would never happen, and if it did I bet we'd get a really sanitized version of his life story.

As anal and private as he is about his music, anyone thinking that he'd actually do an autobio that was really open and true and accurate, is deluding themselves.

I don't care if he ever does or not though, it's his life and he's not obligated to share everything with us, or even anything at all.

I just wish he'd stop fucking up classic tracks.

Maybe do something like "I'm Not There" or "Across the Universe", and make a story out of different songs. I'm hoping there's a Prince/Cirque collaboration down the road.

I think he could write something like Dylan's "Chronicles", which detailed important parts of his life, and didn't get too deep into his relationships. And when you read the book, you can tell why he put those specific times of his life in one book and didn't do a Keith Richards-like bio. I can see him doing that, because Bob's a pretty guarded person.

I think people would be more interested in his story of his rise to fame vs how it was portrayed in Purple Rain, and it's so far in the past, he might be more comfortable discussing his childhood .

I know how McCartney had "Many Years From Now" written on his behalf, and it had to do with avoiding personal attacks had he written it himself. But it was an authorized bio. Billy Joel shelved his, because he didn't feel things needed to be dredged up, plus "Last Play at Shea" did enough dirt digging in it.

I started my blog (will be 5 years ago in April) mostly for my own purposes... this site's threads couldn't contain me and there'd be times I'd either go on for pages and nobody would have the patience for my ranting to read all of it... or I'd finish a thought and want to post more, but I had to wait for replies in order to continue.

it was more or less for me to discuss Prince as I was beginning to really listen to his music, enjoying all of it for the first time (before Feb. 2007, I knew next to nothing... just the movie Purple Rain's existence the names of a couple of songs and how they went)...

I'd offer to ghostwrite his autobiography for him, but I doubt he'd take me without actual credientials... operating a blog that was almost exclusively about him (for the first 3 years it was) isn't gonna cut it

I do have enough material to put out a biography of my own on him, but even now, I'm nowhere near ready for such an ambitious project.

If it ever comes together, it'll be self-published and this place will be the first to know about it

His autobiography will be very interesting to read. He may not write it now, but he may in the future.

yes a auto biography would be wonderful. i real about 6 differnt prince biographies and i would live to hear it str8 from the horses mouth.

Any real Prince Fan will want to read his Autobiography or a biography which illustrates True information. I read several bios about Prince. The books were well written. However, I know better than to believe that All the info written is factual.

I agree, I just bought that book and so far its superlative. Keef pulls no punches and he is as funny as all fuck. I honestly did not know he had it in him.
