Prince's voice/guitar playing on Push n Pull with Nikka

His voice is mesmerizing even singing in the background faint that note he sings just before his guitar solo is just flawless. The man's voice is beautiful! The guitar playing on here has become a fav of mine besides all Nikka's screaming lol

I was at this show 4th rw, it was definately a highlight and I'm glad this at least made it onto to the dvd. Now if we could only get the rest of it unearthed this would go down as an all time classic.

Yeah, I was there too.. Ahhh.. the music club.. The sound checks, the first 15 rows, the aftershows. The cheap gigs, The free gigs..Those were the days..

Thought the same about the the show. Those were the Prince concerts I always wanted. The abundance of new music performed. Long ass improtu jams.. Long.. Long shows... The DVD doesn't do the three hour experience justice.. Would have been nice to have one of the aftershows thrown in there. Though I have to admit.. The aftershow that night at Studio 54 wasn't as great as the Hollywood aftershows at the Highlands (some of that ended up on "It Aint Over").., and the House Of Blues. Calhoune Square... it was on.. Though I had my elbows on the stage at Studio 54.. Had to keep moving my hands so he didn't step on me...lol.. Gave out chocolates.. Cindy L. performed a tune that night...

Nikka was certainly a highlight.. Prince introduced yet another musician into my mix. Small world..

Found out a few months later that my best friend grew up with her were close family friends. Weird circles...

Yeah he cut the soundcheck short because some drunk gal was being obnoxious. I think they were doing a run thru of Xenophobia. During the main show it was cool seeing him open on the drums and then there was the unearthly verson of Power Fantastic that should of been on the dvd as well as that funkay version of Days of Wild. I agree the aftershow was meh. The song he did with Lauper was "I can't stand the rain" by ann peebles. Her verson was always one of my favorites so it was cool to see them do it. I remember him doing a blistering version of Sign of The Times too.

The hollyood shows were off the chain. Didn't go to Highlands but the Kodak show was all that & the House of blues aftershow was one of the best I've seen. He killed Calhoun & Beautiful Strange. I remember a girl nxt to me had never seen him before and during BS her draw just dropped. Classic show which I hope one day will circulate. The BODP ended up on the ONA Aftershow disc. He was showing Renato the keyboard run thru at the Kodak s.check so I had a feeling he was saving it for later that night. Ahh memories...

Sign of the Times at '54... Yeah, I remember that.. Was a highlight.. Kind of remembering him looking slightly annoyed that people didn't seem to know the words.. haha..

Cindy was kinda lackluster.. That HOB show in Hollywood def blew me away.. Was totally different than the Highland show, which was a groove, but the HOB was it... Wish he'd kick that scene back in... The prices for the good seats these days are kind steep.. Granted, I'm in NY now, so I didn't have that 21 nights in LA thing like you all... Days of Wild..

Oh man.. did you catch that free gig at BB Kings the night they premeried the ONA DVD.?

The all N.E.W.S show... Not a word spoken.. love it.

Reminising...

Back on track.. Nice to have Nikka performing around.. She came to this dive in NJ and wrecked the place.. She should get noticied a little more..

I truly know how u feel on this one. I totally love everything about this performance. His guitar playing is unreal and so effortless. Prince makes it look so easy and simple. We should be proud 2 have him n our lives.

This angel is so gifted and I love him 4 the sound of his music.

Thanks nursev 4 making my day on this jewel. I'm listening 2 it right now on repeat. Nikka is the business. Love this lady saw her with him at the w2A Tour at the Forum, great show.

I already posted it numerous time, one of my favorite guitar solo !

Silky smooth, flawless, progressive, the last cluster of notes just pure furry.

Also, the slow bend in the first notes, so bluesy !
