Interview /Sexy MF CD?

Recently i came across a pincute interview CD that also included a copy of Sexy M.F. uk single, It looks like this

except the gold sticker that is on mine says this "500 only Special Edition Music & Interview Twin 2CD Set. This package contains products, T.M's & designs owned by two or more companies. It does not claim to represent any of them. CBAK 24018/2"

The front also has an additional barcode sticker on the top that says PRO 26 and made in england.

Has anyone seen this or know anything more about it? was it a good find?

yes, but I am afraid I can't tell much info about it.

I had this long time ago, it is very old from the late 1980s if I am not mistaken.

My copy only had 1 disc and no Sexy Motherfucker track. No sticker on my cd either.

I have no info on what interview this includes.. I can't remember.

The interview is from the Melody Maker music paper with Steve Sutherland in the early 80's.

It was originally available as a 12inch vinyl picture disc without any music track (among other versions possibly).

It's a bootleg and is not really worth spending money on imo.

One more thing, i'm quite sure there were a lot more than 500 copies spewed out of this.

If the cd single is not a genuine WB release and does not contain any of these cat numbers http://www.princevault.co..._Sexy_M.F. then forget it and buy a real one from ebay or somewhere, they are still easily found and cheap enough.

^ My opinion of course, do as you will.

Bootleg....

Kind of. One difference, it's legal. At least the original single CD version with no Sexy MF single added is.

The laws regarding interviews are/were (not sure if it's changed) very different from the laws regarding music. In the late 80s you could find this in any chain record store, the kind that would NEVER have bootlegs. They used to carry lots of these, for many different artists.

It was legit in that is was not illegal, however, it was not an official release sanctioned by Prince or WB....

Mmm, you are obviously very taken with this release, and are going to buy it regardless, that's if you have not bought it already.

I'm not trying to put a downer on your purchase, by all means go ahead and buy this if that's what you want to do, but a mass produced cd single coupled with a bootleg interview cd (which has possibly been sold in batches since the early 90's) and labeled a limited edition is not going to be that special.

But then what do I know? Like I said, my opinion.

wink

strange,

to combine a bootleg interview disc with the WB single to Sexy MF.

Sounds a little strange and suspicious to me.. I would never buy such a release.... wink

This company did a whole bunch of releases like this in the 90s, with many other bands. Interviews were typically first released on picture disc, later recycled for CD release, and then re-released together w/an official CD single.
