I would just like to make you guy's aware of a great site about someones impressive collection of Prince's guitar pics (Plectrums).

www.PrincePicks.com (http://www.groenemans.nl/) features an amazing gallery section of beautiful photographs of Prince and releated guitar pics. Both the front and rear of the pic is pictured, and is not only a great pictorial archive, but also a very useful resource for this subject and would be of great interest to not only guitarists, but also collectors of Prince memorabilia and also Prince fans who just like something cool.

The sites owner has been collecting picks for years and would welcome contact from people who may be interested in a trade, or from people who may be willing to provide quality scans of picks not featured on the site as yet.

I'd think that would be a really hard item to authenticate. Looks like anyone could just print up the symbol on various picks. Kinda suspect that a chunk of the sites collection are their own picks advertising the site's name on some similar picks Prince supposedly used.

It clearly states that the picks that contain the sites name are for promotion use, they are used as giveaways etc. Please check out the others on the dot com address.

Also, this person is not claiming that all the picks were used by Prince. If you look at the site properly you will see that a lot of the photographs also contain the information relevant to where the pick was obtained, the ones that have been used onstage are noted, the ones obtained by merchandise are noted etc.

Obviously, but my point is the plastic on the special ordered promotional picks look similar to some of the plastic on the Prince picks...which suggests they're an easy item to fake.

This is true.

Just put a search on ebay, and you will end up with a seller that is probably selling "bootleg" Prince guitar picks.

But still, they are nice.

Only way to know you have a real one, is to be at a concert and ask the guitar tech for a pick ...
