Interesting to hear Morris' reluctance to discuss the Time's touring and recording plans. Obviously he already knew it was over but you can't kill the marketing hype!

St. Paul has tweeted it, but I found it via ?uestlove.

It's been online for six months and yet nobody seems to have mentioned it here. Odd.

1. Thx, never saw that before.

2. Appolonia's Dad really creeped me out! eek - Looked he was about to "do something" with her right on camera! She had to yell.."it's my Dad!" eek Weird!

3. What was up with Sheila in the 80's?? She came off as a total "B," and was trying to hard to act like Prince when she finallly broke out. I found that unattractive and annoying. She was a successful session player and touring musician before she became Sheila E. I'm glad she grew out of that!

4. That was some funny shit at the end lol

5. I MISS THE 80's!!! bawl

Naw, nothing creepy about it. It looked like he was so so proud of his little girl and very very nervous.

Blackguitaristz from the org is in the very beginning of the video. He has the white headband on to the left of the dude dressed as Prince.

Wow!! I am so jealous! Must have been a real blast..

Back then MTV seem like they used to actually play and care about music, like the host actually sounds excited to be part of the event.. What a different era!

Wow thanks for sharing! that was awesome. Even though this took place over 20 years ago, i still felt a magnificant presence watchiing Prince walk in at the end. cool As for Appolonia's father, I think he was overwhelmed. Like he can't believe his daughter made it this big and here he is with her on the red carpet. And correct me if I'm wrong I don't think many knew about Sheila E until Glamorous Life came out which was after the release of Purple Rain no? so I would not expect many to know her at the time this video was filmed.

It was good to see the actor that played Prince's father too. Alot of people credit Morris Day for carrying the movie but I felt Clarence Williams was amazing and gave the movie that dramatic edge that helped make it a success too.
