Mariah's NEW Summer Tour Inspired by PRINCE I thought this was EXCELLENT and Interesting News!
Here is a posting from both Mariahdaily.com and from her official website. Update: Mariah Carey Revamping Summer Tour Mariah Carey is completely revamping her North American tour plans. The arena trek, which was due to begin July 18 in Anchorage, Alaska, is being downsized to "something more intimate," according to a spokesperson, who also promises "something different than what Mariah has ever done before." Carey calls this tour her first "Unplugged" performances. "Somehow, and we're not going to say how yet, the fans will have a chance to request songs. It's hard to choose because I have 14 number ones and you can't leave them out. But a fan told me recently she loved 'Close My Eyes,' which is more obscure. So I want to include some of them as well. I know that my favorite kind of show is like going to see Prince in a small club. I want these shows to be like that, very loose and spontaneous." told Mariah. "This is not a 'greatest hits' show. This is mostly about songs the fans connect with." the artist told Billboard earlier this month. "I have such a wealth of material, if I feel like it I can go into different songs than two nights before." __________________________________________________

But how can this tour be "intimate" if she is playing large arenas? In my area,she is performing at the San Jose Compaq Center in August,that's a VERY large venue.Nothing "intimate" about it,trust me. | |

It already exists... it's called "DIVAS LIVE IN VEGAS" sponsored by VH1 and I think they have both headlined before...
