If you could go back in time to witness one live performance,

What would it be?

Please don't pick loads. Just one or
Two and give reasons if you feel like it.

Purple rain at first avenue. This was a history making performance as for the most part it ended up on the album. To be there and hear all the familiar sounds, echo and guitar feedback would be a mindfuck.

That, or the mj and James
Brown performance so that I could bolt the street lamp to the stage.

The detroit birthday show in '86 - why ? - perfect show in every way ! Plus he was soo fine then smile and the 24th aug 1990 - I had a front row seat , right in front of his mike stand !!! This time i'd try not 2 fall apart every time he looked at me & catch at least one of the plectrums he tried 2 throw me!

NYE 1987 - the infamous Miles Davis show.

Prince at his (arguably) musically creative peak, his dancing peak, with (arguably) his best ever band, in a brand spanking new Paisley Park, the intimacy, the fact it was NYE, and then on top of all of that he has none other than Miles Davis as a guest (my second favourite artist of all time)! Unbeatable cool

August 3, 1983.

I don't think words or reasons are necessary.

"I never want to stop singing this song!" Prince in Montreal, 12/2/11, just before performing Purple Rain

First Avenue March '82. Other than that, I would quite like to see the opening night at Hammersmith on the ONA tour again.

wouldn't mind going back to the wembley 98 show, just to see if it was as crap as i remember.

don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....

First Ave SOTT preview March 21, 1987. A-MAZ-ING.

He was in this place between being an established, confident artist and embarking on an entirely new journey with a new band and new musical direction. That performance was perfection. Classic Prince energy, but humble.
