If I WAS PRINCE (Rex Records): 7 Hurtz with Peaches and bitch lap lap - Sexy dancer Fort Lauderdale - Annie Christian OP:L bastards - If I was your Girlfriend Capitol K - Dance On Simian - Under The Cherry Moon Broadway Project with Jeb Loy Nichols - The Ballad of Dorothy Parker Hefner - Controversy Bronze Age Fox - The Most Beautiful Girl in The World Blue States - Alphabet Street Misty Dixon - The Beautiful ones This is better, some really good stuff (Hefner Controversy, Blue States,...), good compilation a bit twisted but funny

haven't heard the first compilation, but i own the 2nd...it's indeed funny, 'specially peaches's take on "sd"...

Bob Belden's "when Doves Cry" JAZZ tribute compilation is actually pretty darned good! Holly Cole's take on "The Q of U" is cool, as is "When 2 r in Love"
It's pretty interesting that most Prince covers are awful: does this mean that people cannot capture the spirit Prince injects in his music, or that his music is really crap, and his quirkiness puts it over the top into listenable? | |
